Junior Healthcare Data Analyst
Location: Willow House, Staines or Angel Court, London
Full time, 37.5 hours per week

Salary: £35,200 - £41,000

In this role, you will work in Healthcare Analytics. We lead the development of the data and analytics capability for Healthcare and Pathway Management within UK Insurance to support evidence based commissioning of cost-effective, high-quality integrated healthcare.
How you'll help us make health happen:
- You will provide analytical insights for identifying, developing and optimising our clinical pathways, improving the quality, experience and affordability of the care we commission for our members
- Analyse consultant and hospital performance, powering the insights behind our guidance to clinicians, and we manage the evaluations of our initiatives to ensure they deliver benefits to Bupa patient
- You will analyse health data and produce, verify and interpret analytic findings and develop reports. Complex data analytics, statistics and epidemiology on data relating to patient care
- You will code in R, SAS, SQL and Python, and produce outputs in PowerBI, Excel, R Markdown, among others
- You will develop an awareness of the health care industry and private medical insurance business as well as gain an understanding of the financial implications that drive business decisions
Key Skills / Qualifications needed for this role:
- Proficient with Microsoft Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint
- Experience with statistical packages and software e.g. SQL, R/Python and/or SAS, , as well as visualisation tools such as Power BI
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills
- Motivated to learn and stretch beyond comfort zone
- Ability to prioritise and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Ability to work independently and as a member of a team
- Ability to provide input into, feedback on, and follow a project schedule
- Excellent verbal and written communication, organisational and interpersonal skills
