This role will bridge the gap between business needs and data solutions, collaborating with finance and business teams to provide insights, optimize data infrastructure, and streamline reporting processes. By combining expertise in business analysis and data, this role will contribute directly to data-driven financial decision-making and help shape the strategic direction of the company.The Data Analyst will be responsible for analysing all demands into the Product team and translating them working with developers and engineers to deliver end to end solutions. This role offers the opportunity to make a direct impact on the way our data drives insights and supports the broader business.Key Responsibilities:* Engage with business stakeholders to comprehensively understand their data requirements and translate these into effective, tailored data solutions that meet the specific needs of the business.* Translate complex technical data concepts into clear, actionable insights, ensuring that non-technical stakeholders can easily understand and leverage the information for decision-making.* Take full ownership of tasks throughout the entire project lifecycle, from initial requirement gathering, Documentation and design through to Unit Testing, User Acceptance Testing (UAT), and production deployment.* Collaborate closely with key stakeholders to fully understand the business challenges being addressed, while gaining insights into TMHCC’s business applications and core insurance platforms.* Work directly with stakeholders across the organization to understand their data needs and translate those into value-driven, actionable data solutions that support business objectives.* Ensure clear and comprehensive documentation of all requirements in the form of user stories, features, and epics, while proactively ensuring that the broader team has a thorough understanding of what is required to inform the build activities.* Partner with the test team to ensure new requirements are accurately reflected in automated test scripts and that test cases align with business expectations.* Assist business users during User Acceptance Testing (UAT), ensuring that new functionality meets their needs and resolves any issues or concerns raised during testing.* Act as a point of escalation when the business has data-related queries or concerns, taking responsibility for understanding the underlying issue, troubleshooting, and either working with engineers to resolve technical challenges or providing appropriate guidance to the business user.* Work towards becoming the “Go-To” expert within the analysis team, offering guidance and support to offshore resources, and ensuring seamless knowledge transfer across the team.* Mentor and collaborate with colleagues to share business analysis expertise while actively seeking to learn from team members to enhance both your analytical and technical capabilities, ultimately improving the service provided to the business.* Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute throughout each development cycle, ensuring alignment between business requirements and technical delivery.* Support the team during month-end activities, ensuring smooth execution of mandatory financial reporting processes and contributing to the broader financial objectives of the organization.* Continue to understand be on top of the latest technology developments within the organisation, specific to Data.Skills and Experience Specification:* 3+ years of experience in business analysis, data analysis, or business intelligence, with a focus on Insurance* Proven experience in data warehousing, financial data analysis, and reporting systems.* Experience working with cross-functional teams to translate business needs into data-driven solutions.* Expert Business Requirements Translator! Able to understand sometime vague or ill-defined business requirements and develop these into clear technical requirements for delivery* Data savvy and experienced working with complex data sets* Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills* Ability to extract data across databases, cloud storages, and separate files filled with unstructured data* An inquisitive nature, a drive to understand why things are the way they are, and curious enough to question unproven beliefs and assumptions.* Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to listen, present and communicate solutions clearly and concisely with technical and non-technical audiences.* Strong proficiency in SQL for querying and manipulating financial data.* Excellent Stakeholder Management.* Familiarity with ETL processes and data integration tools.* Experience with database management systems and cloud-based data warehousing platforms (e.g. Snowflake).* Solid understanding of financial KPIs and metrics (e.g., P&L, balance sheets, cash flow, budgeting).Technical Skills:* Experience of business decision engines* Knowledge of SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS)* Knowledge of semantic layer tools* Knowledge and experience of Agile product delivery methodologies within a DevOps environment (e.g., Scrum, Lean, Kanban, XP)* Detailed knowledge of best practice regarding the use of Azure DevOpsWhat We Offer The Tokio Marine HCC Group of Companies offers a competitive salary and employee benefit package.
