I’m currently recruiting for a Data Analyst to join a well-established pensions business based in Manchester city centre. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who’s keen to develop their career in financial services, working closely with the Finance Director and gaining first-hand exposure to how the business operates.

The Role

As Data Analyst, you’ll be responsible for taking ownership of the customer journey data from start to finish. You’ll track performance at every stage – from transfer times and enquiry volumes to how investments are progressing – ensuring the business has clear, accurate insight to make better decisions.

Key responsibilities of the role:

  • Use Trello to monitor and track the customer journey.
  • Pull and interpret data from spreadsheets and other sources.
  • Use Power BI in the back-office system.
  • Produce meaningful MI (Management Information) to support business decisions.
  • Continuously measure and improve MI reporting processes.
  • Identify patterns and opportunities to improve efficiency and customer experience.
  • Work alongside the Finance Director, learning the ropes and supporting key financial processes.
  • Help develop reporting for the front-end system, where no current analytics are in place.

This role would suit someone naturally curious and analytical, with strong problem-solving skills and an eagerness to learn. You’ll need to be comfortable working with data, spotting trends, and turning raw numbers into actionable insight.

Key requirements:

  • Previous experience in a data analysis or MI role.
  • Strong Excel and spreadsheet skills.
  • Experience using Power BI or other analytical tools.
  • A proactive approach to improving processes.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present findings clearly.
  • Experience in financial services or pensions would be an advantage, but not essential.

This role is a full-time office-based role in Manchester City Centre and is offering a salary of up to £39,000 per annum. The role also comes with a wealth of benefits including 25 days holiday, 16% pension contributions & private health care.

Please apply within.

Pre-Employment Checks for Machine Learning Jobs: DBS, References & Right-to-Work and more Explained

Pre-employment screening in machine learning reflects the discipline's unique position at the intersection of artificial intelligence research, algorithmic decision-making, and transformative business automation. Machine learning professionals often have privileged access to proprietary datasets, cutting-edge algorithms, and strategic AI systems that form the foundation of organizational competitive advantage and automated decision-making capabilities. The machine learning industry operates within complex regulatory frameworks spanning AI governance directives, algorithmic accountability requirements, and emerging ML ethics regulations. Machine learning specialists must demonstrate not only technical competence in model development and deployment but also deep understanding of algorithmic fairness, AI safety principles, and the societal implications of automated decision-making at scale. Modern machine learning roles frequently involve developing systems that impact hiring decisions, financial services, healthcare diagnostics, and autonomous operations across multiple regulatory jurisdictions and ethical frameworks simultaneously. The combination of algorithmic influence, predictive capabilities, and automated decision-making authority makes thorough candidate verification essential for maintaining compliance, fairness, and public trust in AI-powered systems.
