I am recruiting a Data Analyst for a leading financial services organisation based in Surrey.

As a Data Analyst you will work in a team of 6 and report into the Data Lead and Data Manager.

As a Data Analyst you will be working a hybrid model of x2 days a week in the office in Surrey and x3 days from home.

As a Data Analyst you will analyse business requirements, design system specifications, and support the implementation of those designs. This includes tasks like analysing existing systems and scripts, creating specifications as well as collecting, analysing, and visualizing data and communicating this to stakeholders.

Data Analyst Benefits:

  • Salary: £50,000 - £60,000 per annum
  • 22 days annual holiday (Increase to 27, 1 additional day per year worked)

Data Analyst Responsibilities:

  • Determine sources of data relevant to a specific problem or project and collect it from various sources, including databases, spreadsheets, and APIs.
  • Clean and prepare data for analysis by removing inconsistencies, handling missing values, and transforming data into a usable format
  • Create charts, graphs, and other visual representations of data to effectively communicate findings and insights to stakeholders.
  • Develop predictive models to forecast future trends or behaviours based on historical data.
  • Interpret the results of analysis, draw conclusions, and provide actionable recommendations based on their findings
  • Understand business needs and translating them into technical specifications.
  • Analysing existing systems to identify areas for improvement or potential issues.
  • Conduct observations and interviews to gather information about current processes and technology usage

Data Analyst Key Skills & Experience:

  • The ability to analyse complex problems, break them down into smaller parts, and develop effective solutions is vital.
  • Uses problem-solving skills to address technical issues, user needs, and system performance challenges.
  • Evaluating information, identifying potential problems, and making informed decisions are essential for this role.
  • Clear and effective communication is needed to interact with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • The ability to adapt to new technologies, changing requirements, and different work environments is crucial.
  • Ensuring accuracy and quality in all aspects of work is essential.
  • Identifying and resolving issues in data and analysis processes.
  • Analysing data to draw meaningful conclusions and insights.
  • Understanding business objectives and how data analysis can support them.
  • Provide high quality documentation for internal customers and technical teams.

Data Analyst Additional Skills & Experience:

  • Programming languages: (SQL, Java, Python, C#), troubleshooting, database management, understanding system architecture
  • Data Modeling: Understanding how to represent data visually and structurally
  • Understanding of the whole SDLC (Software development lifecycle) including an understanding of pipeline deployments through Azure DevOps.
  • Experience in data ingestion (structured and unstructured data) from various sources such as blob storage, excel and others to SQL
