UK Market Insights & Analytics Manager

Job Purpose

The ViiV UK Insights & Analytics Manager is responsible for supporting the business to make the best, informed, strategic and tactical decisions by drawing on market research, expert resources and high levels of analytic skill and commercial judgement. A critical partner for the business and a core member of the brand teams, the individual must have the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. Working collaboratively with stakeholders is key to proactively find opportunities whilst raising challenges to ensure commercial strategy delivers efficient returns to the business. They will use their experience to generate insight to support decision making and use their leadership skills to contribute to the success of the ViiV UK business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the business to make the best, advised, strategic and tactical decisions by drawing on market research, expert resources and high levels of analytical skill and commercial judgment

  • Partner with team members across the business to bring a clear view of business performance including identification and tracking of key performance indicators and using the results to raise questions and support or challenge strategy

  • Point of contact for market research within ViiV UK. Ensures market research is conducted within the appropriate internal and external guidelines, and that research ‘lives’ and is acted upon by the business.

  • Synthesise insights to deliver analysis and recommendations to sales, marketing, government affairs as well as to the leadership team advise account planning and business decisions

  • Proactively analyse relevant data (including activity, sales, market research, etc) to drive recommendations for business actions to improve performance

  • Project managing the planning, design and implementation for insights and analytics projects to ensure all appropriate stakeholder engagement has been considered and governance procedures have been followed

  • Lead on self-service analytics strategy through leadership of PowerBI Dashboards

  • Point of contact with EU and Global partners across Market Research and Data and Analytics teams.

  • Flag opportunities to Data science for advanced analytics (Machine Learning / Artificial Intelligence)

  • Implement patient-based forecasting for planning cycles, working closely with Finance Directors and Marketing Director

  • Support the Finance Partner through Sales Force Incentive scheme design & target setting (alongside Sales Force Incentive Manager and Sales and Capability Director)

  • Lead engagement with 3rd party suppliers (e.g. IQVIA) for relevant products and offshore analytics support where relevant.

Why You?

Basic Qualifications

  • Degree or equivalent in life sciences, economics, finance, or a related analytical subject, with a passion for technology, digital, and data

  • Strong analytical skills and experience using analysis to solve business problems, with excellent commercial judgement and an instinct for understanding business drivers

  • Proficiency in Excel and the ability to visualise and present data effectively for storytelling, with excellent English verbal and written communication skills

  • Strong leadership skills, with experience leading cross-functional or matrix teams, and the ability to influence and challenge positively with stakeholders at all levels

  • Self-starter capable of rapidly building a network of strong relationships, applying objectivity and rigour to problem-solving, and turning insights into recommendations for senior stakeholders

  • Experience with a broad range of analytics techniques, including clustering, segmentation, and patient-based forecasting, with a comprehensive understanding of their application in the pharmaceutical industry

Desirable Qualifications

  • Commercial experience (marketing, sales, market access etc)

  • Experience with using and developing reports in a modern BI system (e.g. Qlik, PowerBI, Tableau)
