Offering injection, blow and rotational moulding enables them to meet clients needs and be a key supplier for their global customer base.They are now looking to recruit and experienced Toolroom Supervisor to manage their recently updated facility – the ideal candidate will possess good practical knowledge and experience of working and leading a tool room in a fast moving, high volume, moulding plant.Responsibilities:· Provide a “hands on” leadership resource to support the management of the tool room and its staff by working with planning and production to prioritise activities in line with business requirements.· Responsible for the repair, maintenance and improvement to all tooling in line with production and customer requirements.· Look to implement a PPM tooling schedule and a pre-production tooling service in order to limit downtime.· Attend tooling related breakdowns and quality concerns at the machine to reduce the impact on productivity· Log all repairs to create a historical database for reference purposes in the event of repeat breakdowns.· Provide support with training and mentor others as and when required· Work mostly independently with minimal supervision· Work closely with other departments.· Liaise with suppliers for the efficient and timely repair of breakdowns.· Keep on top of spares.· Support new product introduction activities by liaising with tool manufacturers and the local plant team, including lessons learnt from previous concernsCandidate Profile:· A Levels, ONC, City & Guilds level 3, BTec National Diploma Level 3, IVQ Technician Diploma, NVQ level 3.· Ability to read tool drawings.· Experience working with CNC, Lathe, Grinders Milling machines and Spark eroders.· Professional accreditation with an industry related body would be advantageous· Experience of leading and developing people· PC skills (Excel, Word, CAD, Solidworks or equivalent)· Experience of packages such as SAP, MATTEC (Desirable)· Knowledge of lean manufacturing techniques such as 5S, TPM,· Knowledge of Health & Safety legislation – IOSH (Desirable)· Understanding of design and production costs to include waste, downtime, scrap and re-workFor reasons of better legibility, the simultaneous use of the language forms male, female and diverse (f/m/d) is avoided.
