Role Description:
We are looking for aTest Leadto support the development, transition and in-service running (incl. capability upgrades) of an IT application and infrastructure solution providing support to a critical operational end user.

The selected candidate will be responsible for leading the test team to ensure successful delivery of the test function, designing, creating and executing Automated and Manual Functional, Non-functional and System Integration tests. They will demonstrate effective application of Test Management expertise and communication skills with internal and external stakeholders.
The role will provide technical exposure variance across both project activities and Operational (Business as Usual) support activities.
The successful candidate will need to demonstrate leadership qualities and have both automation and manual testing experience, across a range of testing levels, ideally from a Systems Integration background.

Key responsibilities:

  • Leading the end-to-end Integration, Test and Acceptance activities for projects, including the production and maintenance of plans and associated acceptance artefacts;
  • Leading on all test management and acceptance procedures, adhering to relevant standards;
  • Designing and implementing modern, scalable test plans and scripts using a range of new and emerging technologies including automation;
  • Preparing test specifications (manual and automated) and conducting test execution and reporting activities;
  • Highlighting Test and Acceptance related risks, opportunities, assumptions, issues and dependencies;
  • Managing the integration & test environments, including test systems, test data and external services required;
  • Collaborating with third party stakeholders to ensure business requirements coverage in acceptance scripts;
  • Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders on all aspects of test assurance, including with Software Developers and Data Engineers to obtain a deep understanding of the code base and test coverage at unit level;
  • Deriving Test Cases for product features from ambiguous business requirements or design documentation;
  • Deriving complex data to support Test Case execution;
  • Documenting requirements acceptance (RVTM), representing the team on Test and Acceptance related matters appropriate with the Test and Acceptance Plan(s);
  • Responsible for coaching, mentoring and line managing testers and test engineers within the team;
  • Planning and estimating tasks and assigning them to team members.

Key Skills

  • Understanding of cloud-based ERP systems (Oracle Cloud, Azure, AWS);
  • Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps tooling;
  • Knowledge and experience of the Testing Lifecycle and the different types of testing including Automated and Manual Functional, Non-Functional and Integration Testing, front-end dashboard, data visualisation tools and back-end database testing;
  • Demonstrable Systems Integration experience including Automated and Manual Integration of third party systems or components;
  • Demonstrable experience of working with a variety of stakeholders to agree testing objectives;
  • Possession of strong investigative skills - ability to investigate problems and opportunities in processes and recommend solutions;
  • Strong oral and written communication skills – ability to communicate with technical and non-technical team members;
  • Enthusiastic, proactive, troubleshooting attitude with a willingness to learn new technologies.

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Working with complex integration programmes with complex data requirements;
  • Experience using Agile Software Development methodologies;
  • Experience using the Atlassian toolkit or equivalent tools;
  • Experience using Test Case and Requirements repository tools;
  • Knowledge of cloud-based ERP systems (Oracle Cloud, Azure, AWS).

This position is a full time, permanent role and applicants must have (or be able to acquire) BPSS clearance. Ad-hoc travel may be required to various customer and Leidos sites.
