Ring is looking for a System Development Engineer - Ring Imaging, located in Tampere, Finland.

As a System Development Engineer at Amazon Ring, you will be at the forefront of image quality innovation in home security technology. In this role, you'll work closely with our embedded software and hardware teams, bridging the gap between latest imaging technology and practical implementation in our devices.

As a key member of our device engineering team, you'll play a crucial role in developing and validating image quality for our diverse product line. Your expertise will be instrumental in optimizing the integration of software algorithms with hardware capabilities, ensuring our cameras deliver exceptional performance in various lighting conditions and environments.

At Ring, an Amazon company, you'll contribute to the evolution of over 50 device models sold globally. Our product range includes video doorbells, indoor and outdoor cameras, alarm systems, sensors, and car dash cameras, all designed to enhance home and personal security.

This position offers a unique opportunity to work in state-of-the-art camera laboratories equipped with advanced technology. You'll collaborate with hardware engineers to fine-tune sensor performance, work alongside embedded software developers to implement efficient image processing algorithms, and contribute to the overall system architecture to maximize image quality within the constraints of our devices.

Your role will be pivotal in shaping the next generation of Ring devices, ensuring top-notch image quality across our entire product ecosystem. Key job responsibilities:

  1. Design and implement comprehensive test systems for Ring's diverse range of smart home security products.
  2. Create robust, scalable architectures for test environments that can adapt to new product lines and technologies.
  3. Develop sophisticated automated test suites to ensure product quality across all stages of development.
  4. Create and maintain scripts for regression testing, performance testing, and stress testing.
  5. Implement machine learning algorithms to enhance automated test case generation and execution.
  6. Develop software solutions to automate laboratory processes and increase overall efficiency.
  7. Work closely with software development teams to understand new feature requirements and specifications.
  8. Develop test plans and strategies for new features, ensuring comprehensive coverage.
  9. Collaborate on the implementation of diagnostics and debugging tools to aid in feature development.
  10. Provide valuable feedback to software engineers based on test results and performance metrics.
  11. Work with quality assurance teams to integrate automated tests into the overall quality control process.


BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- Masters or Bachelor's Degree in computer science, automation technology or related technical field or relevant work experience.
- Experience in a test or development role as part of a product development organization which has delivered consumer products.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Personal interest in camera technologies and Image Quality.
- Experience in camera image processing like 3A, demosaic, noise reduction.
- Experience in both objective image quality in laboratory environments and subjective image quality in real world user scenarios.
- Experience in C / C++ / Python software programming.
- Experience in using cameras.
- Experience in camera technologies like sensors, optics, als and leds.
- Hands-on work attitude.
- Curiosity and readiness to develop your skills.
