Job Title: Surveys Data Analyst

Location: HM Naval Base, Portsmouth

Service Area: Asset Management, Surveys

Hours of Work: 37 hours per week

Salary: £38,000 to £42,000

Security Clearance: Eligibility required

We’re looking for a Surveys Data Analyst to join our Asset Management and Surveys team. You will also be heavily involved in the upcoming Asset Verification Exercise (AVE) as well as the transition to integrated planning and scheduling/mobile working within the surveys team.

About the Role

As a Surveys Data Analyst, you’ll play a crucial part in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our asset data. You’ll analyse verified survey information, support KPI and Asset Infrastructure Assessment (AIA) reporting, and contribute to the major upcoming Asset Verification Exercise (AVE). Your insights will underpin strategic decision-making and help shape how KBS Maritime manages and maintains essential naval assets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and enhance data architecture and Power BI reporting.

  • Extract, transform and interpret data from a variety of sources.

  • Build data models and perform statistical analysis to support reporting needs (survey programme reporting, completion rates, conditional trends, target vs. actual condition, resource allocation, utilisation rates etc.)

  • Supporting Survey Programme development, phasing and planning/scheduling surveyor resources to surveys within MRI Evo (CAFM tool)

  • Ensure data quality by identifying and rectifying anomalies.

  • Present insights clearly to stakeholders and collaborate across departments.

  • Support data owners in improving the quality and consistency of asset information.

    What You’ll Bring

  • Experience connecting to diverse data sources and understanding ETL processes.

  • Strong skills in Power BI, SQL/T‑SQL, DAX and Power Query.

  • Analytical, detail‑driven mindset with a passion for high‑quality data.

  • Confident communicator and collaborative team player.

  • Ideally, exposure to statistical methods and data analysis.
