Job summary
As our Senior lead for Strategy, Market Research and Business Intelligence, one of your key areas of focus is to support the development and delivery of the corporate strategy, target segments, value proposition and to help define the underlying initiatives that will successfully drive a sustainable NHSBSA. You will be an individual with outstanding business acumen and the ability to influence across a complex matrix environment. You will have an ability to synthesise disparate information, data and insights into coherent business strategy and value propositions will be central to success.

Main duties of the job
We are looking for an enthusiastic and confident individual who has experience of bringing together market and business intelligence to understand and interpret the wider health and care system and the implications for NHSBSA and our services. You will have extensive experience in undertaking research using a range of methodologies and extracting insight from both qualitative and quantitative data and information sources. This insight will be used to ensure the NHSBSA is alert to system and sector changes ensuring we stay relevant and achieve our ambitions. This will be done through a monthly update report that is presented to senior leaders across the organisation.
The successful candidate will also play a key role in supporting the Head of Department and Executive Director in the shaping and delivery of strategic discussions and workshops, the delivery of business planning and the development of Corporate Strategy and Business Plan documents, working at a very senior level within the organisation.

Communicate deep market and customer insights to inform decision making that identifies key areas and articulates target segments and corresponding value propositions Support the Head of Strategy, Planning and Performance and Exec Director of SPBDG to translate sector changes into meaningful insights to support LT Be aware and understand Business Partner Strategies to ensure alignment and fit Support strategic alignment with partners to effect robust relationships and connecting other parts NHSBSA to the sector and create opportunities for the broader business. Influence product development and channel initiatives through robust market and business intelligence. Knowledge of existing health and care markets and working across the NHSBSA and wider system as appropriate to develop and maintain robust landscape assessments. Working collaboratively with appropriate Leadership members and Heads of Services and external stakeholders including the Department of Health and Social Care and NHS organisations to define the strategic vision of the organisation.

Significant knowledge of market research and business intelligence models/approach Strategic thinker, with comprehensive understanding of NHSBSA strategies Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to explain fundamental concepts including areas with highly complex and contentious subject matter. Experience of collating market research, data and business intelligence analysis and presenting the information that informs strategy and business development activities. Able to communicate complicated issues in a clear manner to individuals at all levels of the organisation. Ability to create, develop and foster strong internal and external networks Excellent problem-solving skills and is curious Attention to detail An attitude to get things done with pace and effectiveness. Experience of working in market research and business intelligence environments Background in market research, business intelligence or analytics Understanding of the existing BSA Information Services and Data environment Experienced in the analysis and interpretation of health or NHS related statistics Effective communication and presentation at all levels Ability to document strategic discussions, maintaining clear records and decisions logs. Proven track record of working at a Strategic level. Presenting clear and accurate information to a high standard.

Degree in a subject requiring high levels of data, numeracy, analytics or Business/Customer/Market focus.
