As a Sr. Lead Data Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within Corporate Technology, you are an integral part of a cutting-edge team that works to enhance, build, and deliver data collection, storage, access, and analytics solutions in a secure, stable, and scalable way. As a core technical contributor, you are responsible for maintaining critical data pipelines and architectures across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm’s business objectives.

Job responsibilities

  • Generate data models using firmwide tooling, statistics, and algorithms.
  • Collaborate with Data Engineers and stakeholders to develop data extraction and transformation pipelines.
  • Deliver data platform solutions for collection, storage, access, and analytics in a secure, stable, and scalable manner.
  • Understand key data requirements by working with stakeholders.
  • Design and implement secure data solutions with effective access control.
  • Design and implement data visualization solutions focusing on User Experience.
  • Contribute to a team culture of diversity, equity, and respect.


Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Formal training or certification in Data Engineering concepts and advanced experience.
  • Self-motivated and driven; capable of managing deliverables independently.
  • Experience across the data lifecycle.
  • Advanced SQL skills (e.g., joins and aggregations).
  • Understanding of Cloud platforms, e.g., AWS.
  • Ability to work with stakeholders to develop clear business requirements.
  • Experience with Big Data, Data Lakes, Data Warehouses, Lakehouses.
  • Proficiency in Databricks and Python, including concurrency and error handling.
  • Experience with ETL tools.
  • Knowledge of Data visualization tools.


Additional qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Experience with AWS services, Lambdas, Terraform.
  • Knowledge of Java.
  • Front-end development skills.
  • User Experience design skills.
  • Experience with Snowflake and Data modeling.
  • Experience working in large-scale, global, highly regulated institutions.
