Our permanent hybrid policy sees us all working at least four days across a fortnight in the office.The Financial Ombudsman Service has been resolving customer complaints since 2001. With data playing an increasingly vital role in our transformation journey, the CDO is shaping a modern, cloud-first data landscape that supports innovation, enhances decision-making, and strengthens our customer-centric approach. It’s an exciting time to be part of the Data team at the Financial Ombudsman ServiceKey Responsibilities: Designing and maintaining ETL/ELT pipelines using Azure Data Factory, Synapse and Databricks. Contribute to the design, implementation and maintenance of large-scale enterprise data platform solutions, ensuring quality, scalability, reliability and performance.* Implementing CI/CD pipelines for data solutions.* Building scalable data pipelines, utilising Azure Data Factory, Synapse and Databricks to build and maintain robust data pipelines that process and transform data efficiently.* Ensuring the team’s SLA obligations for data delivery, and reliability are met, and that incidents and requests are managed appropriately.* Collaboration and overseeing development and testing of data service improvements with cross-functional teams in all environments.* Overseeing code promotion process across the data platform solutions and environments, adhering to Service Management change process.* Partner closely with IT application and infrastructure teams in promoting; strong alignment to security and compliance, continual integration with source systems and efficient infrastructure resource management.* Oversee the creation and maintenance of technical documentation and knowledge sharing including data flow/mappings, data dictionary, ERD related to the data solutions.Minimum Criteria:* Experience in large-scale data warehouse/Lakehouse implementations, transitioning from SQL Server-based data warehouses. Strong ETL pipeline design and implementation skills.* Creating and optimising data models, writing complex SQL and Python queries.* Hands on experience with Spark and RESTful APIs* Solid knowledge of data warehouse and Delta Lakehouse technologies.* Experience working with Microsoft Azure and SQL technologies such as Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Data Factory.Desirable Criteria: SAP experienceWe are a values led organisation.
