Solution Architect for Growth

Location:Farnborough, with flexibility to work from home dependent on business demand

Role Overview:

We are seeking aGrowth Solutions Architectto drive our Maritime Defence Campaign strategies and develop innovative solutions across a portfolio of opportunities.

This role will focus on shaping capability roadmaps, technology integration, and strategic customer engagement to position Leidos as a leader in Maritime Defence using cutting edge tech across all forms of UxV, advanced comms and AI.

TheGrowth Solutions Architectwill work closely with engineering, business development and customer teams to ensure technical solutions align with customer requirements and operational needs.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Campaign Strategy Development:Define and execute the Maritime Defence growth strategy, identifying opportunities across multiple programmes including Maritime Autonomy (all forms of UxV from Small to Extra Large) and modern ‘StrikeNets’
  • Solution Architecture:Develop and integrate innovative solutions that leverage emerging technologies in the maritime space
  • Customer Engagement:Establish and maintain strong relationships to shape future requirements
  • Technology Roadmapping:Lead the development of capability roadmaps to align with defence acquisition trends and evolving threats
  • Competitive Analysis:Assess industry competitors, identifying differentiators and positioning strategies for key pursuits
  • Proposal Leadership:Provide technical leadership in bid activities, including developing value propositions, solution concepts, and pricing strategies
  • Collaboration & Teaming:Work with internal and external stakeholders to form strategic partnerships and maximise campaign success

Skills Required:

  • Strategic Thinking:Ability to define long-term growth strategies and align solutions with evolving defence priorities
  • Maritime Defence Expertise:Knowledge of naval operations, platform capabilities, and mission requirements, including UK Commando Force operations and tech
  • Systems Integration:Understanding of complex defence systems, autonomy, cyber resilience, and electronic warfare
  • Customer & Stakeholder Engagement:Proven ability to influence defence customers and shape acquisition strategies
  • Proposal Development:Experience leading solution development, building white papers, and bid responses for major defence contracts (relevant internal MOD experience will also be considered)
  • Financial & Commercial Acumen:Ability to develop business cases, pricing models, and commercial strategies for growth initiatives

Skills Desired:

  • Experience in Defence Procurement:Knowledge of MOD acquisition frameworks, ITT/PQQ processes, and defence funding mechanisms
  • Naval Architecture & Ship Systems:Understanding of hull design, power systems, and survivability technologies
  • AI & Advanced Analytics:Familiarity with AI-driven decision support, data fusion, and predictive analytics in maritime operations

  • Pre-screening to Start BPSS
  • Clearance for Role SC
