Are you a Data Engineering enthusiast who thrives from designing and implementing robust ETL processes, highly scalable data structures and data pipelines within a truly enterprise-scale data processing environment?

Do you want to work on an AI-Driven SaaS platform that's utilised by some of the biggest brands in the world?

If so - look no further.

This is your chance to help my client build their new Data Infrastructure and essentially help them to leverage the power of data, working on large-scale data processing systems.

They have an award-winning, enterprise-scale SaaS platform that was without a doubt, revolutionized its industry and is being utilised by some of the biggest companies and brand names in the WORLD. They have grown quickly and have truly made an impact in their market. They currently have HUNDREDS of clients globally (and I'm talking about big house-hold names) alongside millions of users!

They built the platform from scratch several years ago using absolutely no legacy code and only the very best technology stack and enterprise tools within a true Microservices environment. Data is absolutely at the heart of what they do and with an ambitious roadmap ahead, they're looking for a senior data engineer to join them.

I am looking for someone to take ownership of data modelling and engineering across the business. You will have a robust Infrastructure background and a good understanding of the different complexities that come when moving one system to another.

Lets talk tech. The platform integrates Python and Snowflake and you'll need a deep understanding of SQL and NoSQL databases (MongoDB or similar!) You'll also have exposure with streaming platforms like Apache Kafka and be able to develop and maintain ELT and essentially bring a solid understanding of data warehousing concepts and best practice. Essentially, a strong Data Engineer who is a Snowflake enthusiast who can write solid SQL queries, within Snowflake!

You will understanding Apache Kafka to a high standard and have solid knowledge of Apache Airflow - from a Cloud perspective, good AWS exposure.

Naturally you will have good understanding on AWS. I'd love you to be an advocate of Agile too - these guys are massive on Agile Delivery and Scrum - so it's importantly you share a similar mind-set and appreciate continuous integration and deployment.

If the world of AI is your bag - this is a platform you will want to be working on.This is a great chance to join a firm who do things the right way. These guys absolutely do NOT compromise on quality - they take it very seriously. They place a huge emphasis on delivery so its naturally critical we find someone that shares and owns this mindset!

They have awesome offices here in Nottingham but they're remote-first, so you can work from home if you wish. They treat their staff super well and are a massive believer in giving their people a good home life/work life balance.

Salary to £70k plus amazing benefits. Call me anytime on my mobile (phone number removed) and ill tell you all about it.

How Many Machine Learning Tools Do You Need to Know to Get a Machine Learning Job?

Machine learning is one of the most exciting and rapidly growing areas of tech. But for job seekers it can also feel like a maze of tools, frameworks and platforms. One job advert wants TensorFlow and Keras. Another mentions PyTorch, scikit-learn and Spark. A third lists Mlflow, Docker, Kubernetes and more. With so many names out there, it’s easy to fall into the trap of thinking you must learn everything just to be competitive. Here’s the honest truth most machine learning hiring managers won’t say out loud: 👉 They don’t hire you because you know every tool. They hire you because you can solve real problems with the tools you know. Tools are important — no doubt — but context, judgement and outcomes matter far more. So how many machine learning tools do you actually need to know to get a job? For most job seekers, the real number is far smaller than you think — and more logically grouped. This guide breaks down exactly what employers expect, which tools are core, which are role-specific, and how to structure your learning for real career results.

What Hiring Managers Look for First in Machine Learning Job Applications (UK Guide)

Whether you’re applying for machine learning engineer, applied scientist, research scientist, ML Ops or data scientist roles, hiring managers scan applications quickly — often making decisions before they’ve read beyond the top third of your CV. In the competitive UK market, it’s not enough to list skills. You must send clear signals of relevance, delivery, impact, reasoning and readiness for production — and do it within the first few lines of your CV or portfolio. This guide walks you through exactly what hiring managers look for first in machine learning applications, how they evaluate CVs and portfolios, and what you can do to improve your chances of getting shortlisted at every stage — from your CV and LinkedIn profile to your cover letter and project portfolio.
