We are currently seeking to appoint a Skills and Employability Tutor on a Full-time, permanent basis.

This role is a fantastic opportunity to join LSST as we invest in our FE provision for London and beyond. Our current provision focuses on Skills Bootcamps for adults which will be the initial focus for this role. However, as we develop our provision further across the country, as an early joiner to our Further Education team you’ll be in the perfect position to contribute your ideas, develop your skills and advance your career.

Job Description: We are seeking an experienced and passionate Skills & Employability Tutor to join our team. Skills Bootcamps require a high level of learner achievement in terms of their learning aims and job/career outcomes. Consequently, you will work closely with the Head of Further Education (or other leader) to design, develop, and deliver a curriculum that meets the employment ambitions of our learners. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in skills & employability programmes that result in job outcomes. You will have experience delivering courses to learners from a wide variety of backgrounds and starting points ideally within an Ofsted inspected provision e.g. FE College, Independent Training Provider, JCP provider or similar.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop & deliver FE programmes particularly (during 2024/25) Skills Bootcamp courses in:

    Data science

    Digital skills

    Quality control

    Leadership, and management

    Produce and deliver a learner journey for each curriculum that will result in

    Initial assessment, induction, and individual learner plans

    Production of engaging and interactive learning materials and activities.

    High quality learning content alongside effective employability skills.

    Assessment points that evaluate learner progress through assignments, projects, and exams.

    Achievement of key milestones such as completion of accredited/non-accredited learning, securing of job interviews and progression into employment in line with the requirements of the programme.

    Meticulous records as required for the learner to make progress and for LSST to meet its funding and regulatory obligation.

  • Embed safeguarding, prevent and Fundamental British values as part of the curriculum.

  • Support learner progression in English and maths and embed the development of literacy and numeracy skills within the programme. Provide constructive feedback and support to learners to help them achieve their learning goals.

  • Ensure a ‘wrap around’ service of pastoral support for learners that aids their journey, supports retention, and makes them feel valued .

  • Stay up to date with industry trends and incorporate relevant skills and knowledge into the curriculum as required by the local employers

  • Collaborate with other faculty members and staff to enhance the overall learning experience.

  • Participate in professional development opportunities to continuously improve teaching practices.

  • Any other duty as reasonable requested by the line manager or member of LSST senior management.

    Qualifications & Experience E= Essential D = Desirable:

  • Educated to Level 4 or above (E).

  • Appropriate teacher/trainer qualification (E)

  • Relevant delivery experience in post 16 education, Employability or Apprenticeships (E).

  • Strong knowledge of teaching adults and learners 19+ (E).

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills (E).

  • Ability to engage and support learners from diverse backgrounds (E).

  • Proven experience in delivering boot camp-style courses (D).

  • Experience in developing highly engaging, attractive, and innovative digital learning materials (D)

  • Proficiency in using educational technology and online learning platforms (D).

  • Experience with curriculum development and instructional design (D).

  • Industry certifications in prevent and safeguarding (D).

  • Familiarity with current trends and best practices in Further Education (D).

  • Bachelor's Degree or Higher (D)
