Job Title: Senior Systems EngineerLocation: RochesterWe offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements - please discuss options during the recruitment process.Salary: £50,000 - £60,000 (dependent on experience)Key Responsibilities:Understanding complex customer needs and collaborating to develop, validate, and manage requirements at multiple levelsDeveloping complex system architectures and sub-systems using a Model-Based Systems Engineering approachIntegrating, analysing, and testing real-time systems that incorporate multiple technical disciplines such as electronics, mechanics, optics, and softwareTaking accountability for collaborative technical work package execution and associated outcomesProviding guidance, coaching, and mentoring to other engineersEnsuring customer requirements are met through rigorous verification processesDriving new and improved systems development through implementation, applying best practice systems lifecycle processes, including techniques such as Learn First and AgileRequired Skills & Experience:Essential:Proven experience developing systems in relevant product markets and/or domains, such as control systems, real-time displays, or other safety-critical systems, incorporating multiple technical disciplines (e.g., electronics, mechanics, optics, software)Experience in requirements management, design analysis, modelling, and simulation, using tools such as DOORS, Siemens Polarion, Enterprise Architect, MATLAB, and/or Simulink, with familiarity in methodologies like SysMLA degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant scientific or engineering subject (e.g., Systems Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Physics, or Mathematics)Desirable:Experience in integration, testing, and verification of real-time and/or safety-critical systems, with an understanding of safety assessment processes and their impact on designCustomer and/or supplier liaison experience in technical aspects, ensuring customer requirements are satisfiedAwareness of information assurance, cyber security, and environmental impact considerations related to real-time embedded engineering productsBenefits:Competitive pension schemeEnhanced annual leave allowanceCompany-contributed share incentive planFlexible working optionsEmployee assistance programmeCycle-to-work schemeEmployee discountsPotential eligibility for an annual incentiveAbout the Team:The Systems Engineering team is involved in the development and supply of products across a diverse range of commercial and military platforms, including display systems, pilot control systems, and flight control systems.
