Unlike traditional contractors, where you are hired by the client, you remain a permanent employee of Peregrine, with access to all our standard benefits:A Permanent Position in a Market-Leading Aerospace & Defence companyLife Assurance5% annual bonusPension Scheme Employer matched to 5%Voluntary Benefits Health Cash Plan, Dental, Will Writing etcAnnual Leave 23 days rising to 27 with length of serviceSick Pay Increasing with length of serviceThe Role: Senior Systems EngineerWe are looking for experienced and talented Senior Systems Engineers to join a global market-leading business to support the development of a wide range of state-of-the-art products.As part of one of the world's leading defence, security and aerospace companies, the successful Senior Systems Engineer will be part of the development and supply of products across a diverse mix of commercial and platforms; Head Up and Head Worn Displays, Safety Critical Pilot Control and Flight Control Systems.We encourage our Senior Systems Engineers to gain a breadth of knowledge across these domains and also develop to become subject matter experts in one or more product domain, or systems engineering specialism.Key ResponsibilitiesUnderstanding customers complex needs and collaborating to develop, validate and manage requirements at multiple levelsDeveloping complex system architectures and sub-systems using a Model Based Systems Engineering approachIntegration, analysis and test of real time systems containing multiple technical disciplines such as electronic, mechanical, optical and software sub-systems.Taking accountability for collaborative technical work package execution and associated outcomesProviding guidance, coaching and nurturing talent in other engineersVerifying that customer needs are satisfiedSteering new and improved systems development through implementation whilst making use of best practice systems lifecycle processes alongside techniques such as Learn First and AgileDesired experience and qualifications5 years or more proven experience in systems engineering activities in relevant product markets and/or domains, such as real time displays or electro-mechanical controlsProven experience in requirements and design analysis, modelling and simulation, using tools such as DOORS, Siemens Polarion, Enterprise Architect, Matlab and Simulink and design methodologies such as SysMLProven experience in safety-related systems and safety assessment processes with an understanding of how these processes influence the designCustomer and/or supplier liaison experience for technical aspectsAbility to work with little guidance and make sound strategic decisions whilst collaborating to ensure the team understand, co-operate and support those decisionsProven experience in estimating, planning and tracking multi-discipline or systems engineering activitiesAbility to perform review assessments and technically guide the work of othersDetailed electronic engineering experience is highly desirable.
