The Role
The Rosalind Franklin Institute is a national Research Centre, funded by the UK government through UK Research and Innovation, dedicated to bringing about transformative changes in life science through interdisciplinary research and technology. The scientific focus is to look at the impact of virus on the body, expanding from the structural models of proteins to observing changes in tissues.
The Rosalind Franklin Institute is currently expanding and looking to recruit Senior Research Software Engineers (RSE) for its Artificial Intelligence and Informatics Theme. RSE is a protected title with its own institute, find more on the definition of the role here . The AI Core Team have built and are constantly improving the cloud-based data and compute infrastructure which allows for scientists to process their workflows from taking data on instruments to disseminating data via publication. As a senior RSE you will be working on developing this infrastructure to move towards the Franklin’s scientific goals. You will be working in adapting our workloads to cutting edge technology as well as designing and developing software to meet research needs.
