Job Description

We’re looking for a Senior Implementation Manager to join our fast growing Finance & Treasury Product team in London or in Tallinn. This role is a unique opportunity to have an impact on Wise’s mission by ensuring we build smart and scalable internal financial systems and empower millions more people with instant access to their money.

Your Mission

Wise’s Treasury team is instrumental in managing liquidity and hedging currency exposures to enable Wise to meet speed promises and minimising costs.

Wise is rapidly expanding globally, creating new products to consumers and businesses, entering new jurisdictions and also offering new products. This is a unique opportunity to lead complex projects integrating new Wise products and markets into Wise’s Treasury systems.

You will ensure that we implement and update the systems to enable the treasury team to fulfil its obligations as Wise continues to scale into new markets and products.

How you’ll contribute to our Mission

  • Planning and scoping

    • You will be a key point of contact for product teams and Treasury stakeholders on integrating new products, features and regional expansions to ensure Wise has accurate view of currency exposures.

    • You will review the product changes and analyse the impact on Treasury processes such as Liquidity management, FX management etc.

    • You will review the existing implementations for any risks and gaps.

    • You will proactively engage with relevant product teams to understand their needs, and navigate prioritisation problems ensure Treasury impacts are minimised.

    • You will develop an implementation roadmap and lead quarterly planning of Treasury implementation work, as part of the wider Treasury Ledger team quarterly planning.

  • Execution and implementation

    • You will figure out a plan and work with a team of product managers, engineers, data analysts and operations specialists to integrate all new Wise products, regions and entities into our safeguarding system.

    • You will own large and complex integrations and support the team with clear documentation including requirements, detailed project plans, resource allocation, testing, delivery etc.

    • You will support operations teams through new implementations, including training regional operations teams on safeguarding processes as part of regional expansions.

  • Support

    • You will ensure documentation of product flows.

    • You will get hands-on when things go wrong - supporting product and engineering teams during incidents to understand the impact, drive resolution and improve controls to prevent similar incidents recurring.

This role will give you the opportunity to:

  • Get amazing exposure - you will be omniscient. You will know almost everything about every product flow and geography that Wise is launching, while working with a group of amazing and dedicated implementation managers, product managers, engineers, analysts, and operations. You will learn everything you ever wanted to know about payments, banks, regulations and assets not just for one geography - but for the entire world.

  • Choose your path to impact – we believe people are most empowered when they can act autonomously. So rather than telling you what to do, you’ll work with your team to create a vision of your own. Of course, you can always gather feedback from smart, curious people across Wise but you’ll have the freedom to make your own calls.

  • Work in a world-class international Finance & Treasury Team, learn a lot about fintech, finance and treasury, while also building a high-volume, real time treasury system.

  • Work with a modern microservices system with key parts written in-house, which allows to move fast and build controls and experiences that are above industry standards and push the boundaries of what is possible.

  • Be part of our mission to make money without borders the new normal.

A bit about you:

  • You create clarity. You have great communication skills that help you bring people together behind a common goal, manage multiple points of view and create clarity and organisation into complex problems and diverse teams. You should be able to explain complex concepts in simple terms while ensuring there is no nuance lost to stakeholders who may not be familiar with treasury terminology.

  • You’re hands on when it comes to product implementation and delivering features and building roadmaps. You’d do everything needed to make the team and the product successful. You get it done.

  • You have experience of managing end-to-end product integration lifecycles from scoping to delivery and post production support for ambitious, impactful customer / non-customer facing products in data-driven environments.

  • Data-driven – You can pick up the signal from the noise. You are comfortable to dig deep into data, explore and make decisions based on insights.

  • You’re familiar with SQL and can communicate big data / complex data sets clearly.

  • You’ve applied agile software development methodologies and tools before.

  • You enjoy getting deep into the processing logic. You like to be thorough and understand in-depth how things work and all their dependencies. You don’t mind working in the non-customer facing team and bringing clarity to the team over complicated processes, while independently making sense of complex topics and breaking them down into smaller, more manageable pieces.

Beneficial, but not mandatory experience:

  • Treasury background and knowledge about currency exposure management.

  • Experience working with business analytics tools (e.g. Looker, Superset).

  • Passion for technical products and understanding of tech stacks used in software engineering.

Our Offer:

For everyone, everywhere. We're people building money without borders — without judgement or prejudice, too. We believe teams are strongest when they are diverse, equitable and inclusive.

We're proud to have a truly international team, and we celebrate our differences.

How Many Machine Learning Tools Do You Need to Know to Get a Machine Learning Job?

Machine learning is one of the most exciting and rapidly growing areas of tech. But for job seekers it can also feel like a maze of tools, frameworks and platforms. One job advert wants TensorFlow and Keras. Another mentions PyTorch, scikit-learn and Spark. A third lists Mlflow, Docker, Kubernetes and more. With so many names out there, it’s easy to fall into the trap of thinking you must learn everything just to be competitive. Here’s the honest truth most machine learning hiring managers won’t say out loud: 👉 They don’t hire you because you know every tool. They hire you because you can solve real problems with the tools you know. Tools are important — no doubt — but context, judgement and outcomes matter far more. So how many machine learning tools do you actually need to know to get a job? For most job seekers, the real number is far smaller than you think — and more logically grouped. This guide breaks down exactly what employers expect, which tools are core, which are role-specific, and how to structure your learning for real career results.

What Hiring Managers Look for First in Machine Learning Job Applications (UK Guide)

Whether you’re applying for machine learning engineer, applied scientist, research scientist, ML Ops or data scientist roles, hiring managers scan applications quickly — often making decisions before they’ve read beyond the top third of your CV. In the competitive UK market, it’s not enough to list skills. You must send clear signals of relevance, delivery, impact, reasoning and readiness for production — and do it within the first few lines of your CV or portfolio. This guide walks you through exactly what hiring managers look for first in machine learning applications, how they evaluate CVs and portfolios, and what you can do to improve your chances of getting shortlisted at every stage — from your CV and LinkedIn profile to your cover letter and project portfolio.
