In addition, managing efforts from across the globe and especially Europe that protect, optimize and leverage the company’s spectrum assets in support of Intelsat’s broader long-term growth strategy.

As a qualified individual with a diverse background, experience, values, and strong work ethic, you will also be required to assist (when required) and perform various regulatory engineering aspects such as coordination of the satellite networks with other satellite operators based in Europe region as needed as well as ITU filing assessments when needed. In this role, you are expected to maintain situational awareness of the regulatory and spectrum landscape in your region and how it relates to Intelsat global positioning and corporate objectives.What you will doMaintain situational awareness of the spectrum landscape, particularly in ITU Regions 1.Engage directly with regulators in your region (especially Europe) and develop rapport and working relationships.Prepare and document technical/regulatory analyses for Intelsat’s responses to Region 1 Consultations from other administrations in collaboration with Intelsat Regulatory Affairs team.Develop technical/regulatory contributions to ITU Working Parties and other regional organizations in alignment with Intelsat’s objectives. Represent Intelsat at these meetings, on possible CEPT Administration (e.g., Germany) delegations, and present and defend contributions.Conduct technical analyses for intersystem coordination and actively participate in operator to operator and Administration coordination meetings.Prepare contributions and participate in meetings of the ITU (CEPT) and other regional organizations in Middle East and Africa to ensure that regulations applicable to the spectrum use are favorable to satellites in general and particularly to Intelsat.Assist Intelsat’s Regulatory Affairs group on ITU-D, CEPT, ASMG, ATU and market access projects, as needed.Address requests from internal stakeholders regarding ITU and CEPT spectrum related technical/regulatory matters.Support other spectrum team members including in the earth station and space station application process when necessary.Your required experience/skillsAt least a four-year college Engineering degree, preferably in Electrical Engineering.Knowledge of the commercial satellite industry.Deep understanding of non-geostationary satellite systems and applicable regulations.In-depth knowledge of the ITU, CEPT, ASMG, ATU rules, and ITU Radio Regulations.Effective English language verbal and written communication skills.Intermediate German language or above.Able to write code/program in MATLAB and/or similar language for interference analysis and non-geostationary satellite simulations.At least 10 years of relevant experience.Fluent in English and German.Your success in this role will look like:Able to effectively communicate complex ideas succinctly to peers and management.Effective interpersonal skills with the ability to facilitate agreement during challenging conversations.Ability to work in a cross-functional team environment, manage external consultant relationships and collaborate with internal clients.Proficiency in MS Office Suite.It would be nice if you had:Previous industry experience.How we support you:Hybrid work environment offering up to two days per week work from home (for eligible positions).Development opportunities supporting professional growth championed by our dedicated Learning & Development team. 20-25% of our positions are hired internally!Ways to get involved: satellite launch parties, company connect events, charitable activities, team social events, recognition programs, and employee resource groups.Wide range of benefits and perks to help you stay healthy, happy, and productive.
