Job Purpose - Primary support role in the calibrationactivities on Hybrid and pure electric powertrain projects. - Ableto work with good level of autonomy on different subjects within asmall and agile team. - Hands-on calibration activities in allareas of the control and support chassis and powertrain rig leveltests. - Use of calibration processes to meet project deliverables.Apply methodical and pragmatic approach to balance performance,energy consumption, NVH and driveability attributes. - Develop corecalibration methods for new hybrid/EV powertrain systems. - Supportcontrol system and software in powertrain systems integration.Analyse calibration results to identify improvements and generateengineering change requests. Person Specification - Degree inMechanical, Electronics Engineering or an equivalent education. - 5years of post-graduate experience in the field of Powertraincalibration with OEM or Tier1 supplier. - Production levelknowledge of developing and calibrating Hybrid powertrain systems,including energy management, automatic transmission control (TCU),Engine control (EMS) and vehicle systems (ABS/ESP). - knowledge andcompetences in terms of calibration processes and methodologies. -Understanding of Software strategies and Software specifications:familiar with MATLAB Simulink format. - Experience in developingvehicle and powertrain control algorithms. - Expert workingknowledge of automotive calibration tools (ETAS INCA/MDApreferred). - Experienced in vehicle targets cascading to controland calibration. - Good level of competence in planning andexecuting testing activities, analysing data and reportingfindings. - Able to work under pressure with timing respect. -Strong communication skills both written and verbal. Ability toovercome cultural barriers. - Good driving record and experience invehicle driveability assessment. - A degree of flexibility and awillingness to occasionally travel abroad for short periods oftime. Main Duties and Responsibilities - Task planning anddelivering powertrain calibrations in all areas of the software,including calibration version management and according CAUK qualityprocesses. - Support other team/department with powertrainintegration. - Work closely with control and software engineers tooptimise overall system performance and hybrid controllers. -Support vehicle powertrain calibration activities, support dynotesting. - Documenting and reporting calibration activities,including technical presentation to peers and management. -Supporting calibration trips in Europe and China for environmentcalibration tests.
