My client a leading Investment bank are looking for a seasoned Market Data SME to act as there go-to authority for all aspects of market data ingestion, management, vendor relationships, licensing, and data governance. The successful candidate will work across trading, quant, risk, operations, and technology teams to ensure high-quality, reliable and compliant market data coverage across asset classes (e.g. equities, fixed income, FX, derivatives, commodities, as relevant).


Role

  • Own the end-to-end lifecycle of market data — from vendor selection and licensing, ingestion, validation, transformation, storage, to publication/use across internal systems.
  • Serve as the liaison between business stakeholders (trading desks, quant, risk, operations), IT / data engineering teams, and external vendors.
  • Ensure data quality, consistency, robustness, and timely availability.
  • Maintain metadata catalogues, data dictionaries, and documentation of data flows, entitlements, usage rights, and compliance policies.
  • Provide expert advice and support on market data vendor offerings, licensing models, cost optimisation, vendor negotiation and contract review (for firms where licensing/commercial terms are relevant).

Skills Needed

  • Demonstrable expertise in market data — including understanding of different asset classes (equities, fixed income, derivatives, FX, commodities, as relevant).
  • Strong working knowledge of major market data vendors and data feeds, licensing models, reference data, and real-time data services.
