Together, we can make a dent in the universe bigger than ourselves.We are now hiring a Senior Frontend Engineer with strong React experience to join our team!About the roleMatillion is built around small development teams with responsibility for specific themes and initiatives. Each team is a mix of engineers with various levels of skills and experience. The Senior Frontend Engineer works within a team to write, test, and release new features and fix problems in the Matillion products, all while innovating on new ideas and mentoring more junior engineers. We value in-person collaboration here at Matillion, therefore this role follows our hybrid work structure where Matillioners work 2 days a week in our Manchester office. Our core day is Wednesday, and the second day will be determined together. The rest of the week you are welcome to work from the office, or remotely if you’d prefer.Technologies you’ll use… JavaScript/TypeScript, React, Redux, , and AWS

What you'll be doing

You’ll spend a significant amount of your time working on production services and applications for Matillion, whilst also collaborating with the broader team to understand and deliver work that contributes to the teams’ goals Responsible for your workflow, you’ll be writing code, unit testing, all the way through to completion and production release, then ongoing maintenance and support  Whilst also participating in code reviews, you will be part of research projects, exploring future opportunities and new technologies You’ll have extensive opportunity to develop your technical and interpersonal skills through self-training, collaboration with the broader team, and mentoring, enabling progression through up-skilling to take on more complex tasks  By developing an understanding of the teams domain and architecture, you’ll help handle risk, change and uncertainty, contributing to confident decision-making and continually improving ways of working 

What we are looking for

Strong JavaScript programming skills, specialising in React and its ecosystem. Experience developing and deploying JavaScript web applications in high-traffic environments. Proven track record of delivering software features into production. Familiarity with at least one cloud platform: AWS, GCP, or Azure. Solid understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle and Agile methodologies (, Kanban, Scrum). Knowledge of backend integration using REST APIs, WebSockets, or GraphQL, with appropriate data structures and stores.Desirable:Experience with CI/CD tools (, Jenkins), Linux scripting, and modern CSS methodologies (, BEM, SASS/SCSS).

At Matillion, we are committed to providing competitive salaries in line with market standards.
