We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Senior Finance Manager to join a FTSE 100 corporation. This key position will focus on managing the monthly accounting and reporting cycles, as well as overseeing cost control, forecasting, and financial analysis. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to think strategically about the broader business impact of financial decisions.

As the Senior Finance Manager, you will lead a team of six professionals and report directly to the Head of Finance. Your role will be critical in ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting, driving process improvements, and partnering with senior leadership to support financial objectives. This is an exciting opportunity for a results-driven leader with a strong growth mindset, who can not only manage day-to-day operations but also take a step back to evaluate the broader implications of commercial changes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Team Leadership: Manage, mentor, and develop a team of six finance professionals, ensuring high performance and accuracy in all financial reporting and analysis.
  • Monthly Accounting & Reporting: Take full ownership of the monthly accounting cycle, ensuring that financial statements and reports are accurate, comprehensive, and delivered on time.
  • Executive Reporting: Present financial results to senior leadership, including the CFO and other executive team members, providing clear and actionable insights.
  • Business Partnering: Collaborate with the executive team to support financial goals and business strategies, providing financial guidance and analysis to drive decision-making.
  • Budgeting & Forecasting: Lead the annual budgeting process and quarterly forecasting, ensuring that financial targets align with overall business objectives and strategy.
  • Group Reporting: Work closely with the Group Reporting team on the preparation of annual and half-year accounts, and liaise with auditors as needed.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with other core finance teams to understand key developments and their impact on your areas of responsibility, ensuring that financial strategies reflect these changes.
  • Process Improvement: Lead and support the finance transformation initiatives, driving efficiencies through process improvements and automation where possible.
  • Ad-Hoc Projects: Take the lead on various finance-related projects, contributing to the continuous improvement of processes and operations within the department.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Qualified Senior Accountant with a proven track record in financial management, internal controls, and management reporting.
  • Strong experience in team management, with a focus on mentoring and developing direct reports in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated experience in financial planning, forecasting, and reporting in complex, high-volume environments.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present financial information to non-financial stakeholders and senior leadership.
  • A proactive problem-solver with the ability to analyse complex financial data and make strategic recommendations.
  • Proven ability to lead change initiatives, improve processes, and drive continuous improvement.
  • Background in e-commerce or big data environments.
  • Experience working in multi-site or multi-country finance teams.
  • Prior experience in business partnering outside of the finance function.
