The Green Recruitment Company are delighted to be supporting the Innovation & R&D incubator at a major, international utility and energy solutions provider in their search for a Senior Energy Technologist.
As a key member of the Emerging Tech R&D team, you would have the opportunity to work on some of the most promising innovation projects in the sector – primarily surrounding BESS & EV integration, energy management, optimisation, and electrification solutions.
In particular, this individual would be providing technical & modelling expertise to cleantech & renewable energy subsidiaries concerning these projects – directly contributing to the delivery of our client’s strategic energy transition goals.
The ideal candidate will have direct experience developing and launching optimisation models. They should also have technical skills using R., Python, MATLAB, or C/C++ and a proven capability to communicate with internal & external stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
Work with the EV Charging team to develop research workstreams for ultra-rapid charging infrastructure projects.
Collaboratively work on the design and development of ultra-rapid charging networks - focusing on integration with different energy vectors.
Research and provide solutions to optimisation, grid demand, & BESS utilisation issues.
Research new methods for front-of-meter optimisation strategies supporting co-located BESS in different power markets.
Enable EV Charging and BESS R&D activities by designing and implementing new micro-grid systems.
Develop energy models to understand the efficiencies of long-duration energy storage systems.
Work with Cleantech subsidiaries to provide technical insights and expertise – enabling the identification of innovative opportunities within Electrification and Mobility.
Requirements:
Qualified Electrical /Computer Science/ Energy Systems Engineer (Via Degree or similar)
Direct, relevant experience working on charging or energy infrastructure technologies.
Familiarity with machine learning algorithms about energy storage optimisation.
Proven ability to develop and launch energy system models to optimise battery co-location with EV charging or renewable assets (solar/wind).
Strong software skills surrounding R, Python, MATLAB, and C/C++.
Exposure to AWS cloud architecture.
Ability to communicate with internal and external stakeholders to effectively provide technical solutions.
Comfortable working on technical and strategic projects.
