As an expert on all things that relate to forecasting and causal inference and measurement methodologies to support capital allocation decisions, you will be part of our Finance & Strategy Analytics team supporting strategic decisions to maximize the growth and profitability of our marketplace. 

YOUR MISSION (IF YOU ACCEPT IT):

Analyze, model and influence our planning and capital allocation across markets, products and workstreams leveraging best practices in analytics and data science techniques  Monitor internal and exogenous impacts on our business to provide regular intelligence and forward guidance to senior leadership as they plan and optimize performance.  Support strategic capital allocation decisions across our growth levers (including marketing, product, pricing, etc) by consolidating learnings from past experiments, developing your own causal models to help isolate the impact of each growth lever and policy changes.  Advance our understanding and prediction of customer and seller Lifetime Value (LTV)  Explore the latest trends in forecasting and experimentation in marketplaces to identify new opportunities to better support growth  Lead complex cross-functional initiatives working closely with business and engineering stakeholders as well as your peers within the Data community in Back Market Be a key driver of the business strategy, by thinking beyond immediate analysis to understand the long-term implications of actions

YOU ARE IN THE RIGHT PLACE IF:

5-8+ years of relevant industry experience working in and a degree (Masters or PhD) in a quantitative field (, Statistics, Econometrics, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Data Science, Operations Research) Deep knowledge in forecasting, statistics, causal inference and experimentation A self-starter who understands the current and future business needs by working closely with stakeholders understand their needs Proactive in identifying trends, risks which may result in critical business impact, and driving root-cause analysis to identify opportunities & recommendations. Tenacious about achieving results, and thrives in a fast-paced, ever-evolving environment Comfortable taking calculated, data-driven risks and using learnings to continue to pivot, evolve forecasting approaches Experience partnering with internal teams to drive action and providing expertise and direction on analytics, experimental design, and measurement Strong knowledge of SQL, Python and/or R Experience in digital marketplaces and/or e-commerce are a plus
