Job Purpose:

As a Senior Data Scientist at ICIS, you will drive data-based innovation by developing analytical models that quantify impacts in the energy and chemicals industries. You will work closely with ICIS market experts and take responsibility for demanding analytics innovation projects, focusing on designing a model-augmented process to determine fair market price levels across various markets.

Key Accountabilities/Responsibilities:

  • Drive and support R&D and operation of data-driven analytical market models, co-developing strong quantitative market models with analysts and market experts, guiding model development, and implementing enhancements.
  • Engage with customers and internal market experts to explain models and insights, translating domain knowledge back into models.
  • Manage model development projects and collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Continuously learn new techniques and apply them to analytical problems, sharing knowledge with peers.

Key Skills/Experience Required:

  • 3 to 5 years of practical experience in predictive modeling, preferably in market contexts, with experience in techniques like scenario forecasting, agent-based modeling, and machine learning.
  • Experience in organizing projects and aligning teams, with a track record of advancing development projects into production.
  • Strong communication skills to explain complex topics to diverse stakeholders.
  • Advanced programming skills in Python and SQL.
  • Basics of software development practices including modularization and versioning.
