Description We are looking for a Senior Data Engineerto join us on a permanent basis. We need talented individuals toapply their software development and data engineering skills forsolving data challenges to support a major UK Government programmefrom locations throughout the UK.This position is a full time,permanent role and applicants must have (or be able to acquire) SCclearance.  Ad-hoc travel may be required to various customerand Leidos sites THE ROLE YOU WILL PLAYYou will work closelywith data engineers, delivery managers, fellow technicalspecialists, external partners and our customer’s teams to supportthe discovery, design, delivery and operation of a wide range ofdata solutions. It is a great place to be able to use your skills,learn from others and form one of the best performing teams in thebusiness. Your responsibilities will include:Design and leadthe implementation of data flows to connect operational systems,data for analytics and business intelligence (BI) systemsBuild,Maintain and Operate Data environments and data-streamingsystemsDebug, resolve and optimise data processing and analyticsissuesBeing proactive in evaluating and developing tools andtechnologies in improving the data analytics platformsArchitectand/or evaluate data analytics solutionsLead work on databasemanagement Supporting the development of data migration, dataintegration and data processing processesSupporting the creation ofproject plans, identification of risks, and generation of riskmitigation plansPROFILE:Required Skills:Experience working with ETLplatformsExperience with Python and its numerical, data and machinelearning librariesExperience of working in an agile softwaredevelopment environmentExperience estimating task effort andidentifying dependenciesExcellent communication skillsDesiredSkills:Azure or AWS CertifiedFamiliarity with JavaExperiencebuilding business intelligence reportsExperience of setting up andadministering analytics services, such as Power BI or PentahoBA Experience with streaming services, such as KafkaWhat we dofor you:At Leidos we are PASSIONATE about customer success, UNITEDas a team and INSPIRED to make a difference.
