Senior Data Engineer - Shape the Future of Data in Financial Services

Hybrid | 2-3 days/week in offices across the South East & North West (Commutable from Milton Keynes, Northampton, Banbury, Bedford, Manchester)

Up to £80,000 + Car Allowance + Bonus + Benefits

Be at the Heart of a Data Transformation

This is your chance to join a business at a pivotal moment in its data journey. With a new Head of Data starting imminently and a Data Architect soon to follow, the vision is bold: build a modern, scalable data platform that transforms complex, messy client data into trusted, actionable insights.

And they need you to help make it happen.

As a Senior Data Engineer, you won't just maintain a system; you'll help design and build it. The team has already made strong progress, moving from legacy data warehouses to Databricks and a medallion architecture. But there's still plenty to do: from transforming unstructured external data into business-ready models, to shifting from batch to streaming pipelines, and embedding Unity Catalog for robust data governance.

You'll be the hands-on expert driving this forward - mentoring two Data Engineers and helping shape the team's culture, processes, and technical direction.

Why This Role Stands Out

  • Build, don't just maintain - play a key role in shaping a modern data platform from the ground up.
  • Lead and mentor - guide two Data Engineers and help grow a high-performing team.
  • Modern tech stack - Databricks, Unity Catalog, Azure, SQL, Python - with room to innovate.
  • Attractive package - up to £80k base + car allowance + bonus + benefits.
  • Hybrid working - 2-3 days/week in offices across the Midlands & North West.

This isn't just another data engineering role. It's a rare opportunity to join at the inflection point - where your ideas, skills, and leadership will directly shape the future of data in a growing financial services business.
