Job summary
Reporting to the Deputy Head of Business Intelligence - Technical Development, the Senior Data Engineer will participate in the maintenance and development of databases, reports and systems using a variety of methods and software tools. The post holder will play a full part in the team approach to providing information support to the Trust, ensuring that systems are in place to deliver information that is accurate and complete, within agreed timescales, to meet internal and external requirements.
Main duties of the job
The main aspect of the role is to develop robust software for databases, reports and websites, adhering to good practice including source control and documentation. The post holder is expected to follow the full development lifecycle, including taking the lead in planning their own projects, working with customers to build a specification and iterating through prototypes and developments on complex technical projects from beginning to conclusion.

The post is a Band 6 subject to Agenda for Change review.
The ideal candidate should have experience and skills in working with NHS data, along with strong communication skills, both written and verbal. The successful candidate will be highly motivated, with experience in Business Intelligence. You will possess excellent communication skills, good team leadership qualities and excellent technical skills.
