Senior Microsoft Fabric Data Engineer - Hampshire

£75,000 | 2–3 days per week in office


My client, a greenfield Microsoft Partner, is seeking a Senior Microsoft Fabric Data Engineer to join their growing consultancy team. This is a hands-on, client-facing role where you’ll design and deliver enterprise-grade data platforms using Microsoft Fabric and related technologies.

Role and Responsibilities


  • Architect scalable data solutions using Microsoft Fabric, following the Medallion architecture (Bronze/Silver/Gold)
  • Define workspace structures, governance frameworks, and naming conventions
  • Build metadata-driven ingestion pipelines for diverse sources including: Dynamics 365/Dataverse, Business Central, SharePoint-hosted Excel files, SQL / ODBC / legacy systems, REST/Graph APIs and event streams
  • Develop PySpark/Spark SQL notebooks for advanced data cleansing, transformation, and business logic
  • Create production-ready semantic models for Power BI, including star schemas and Direct Lake optimisation
  • Implement governance and security controls (RLS, OLS, service principals)
  • Drive CI/CD best practices using Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions
  • Engage with clients through workshops, documentation, and technical knowledge transfer


Required Experience


  • Deep expertise in Microsoft Fabric (Lakehouse, Data Factory, Pipelines, Notebooks, Delta Lake, Semantic Models)
  • Strong PySpark/Spark SQL skills for large-scale transformations
  • Experience integrating with Dynamics 365, Dataverse, and Business Central
  • Proven ability to implement CI/CD pipelines and manage deployments across environments
  • Solid understanding of Power BI modelling, DAX, and optimisation
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills – able to lead client workshops confidently
