About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join our growing Software Engineering team as a Senior Data Engineer.

What you’ll do

Key responsibilities in this role will include (but not be limited to):

  1. Lead the design, development and enhancement of our data pipelines to support use cases such as reporting, data extraction/export etc.
  2. Own the delivery of your code from design all the way to production.
  3. Collaborate with Software Engineers to develop the GSS platform.
  4. Collaborate with the Product team to provide expert Data Engineering advice and recommendations.
  5. Collaborate across the wider Technology teams (Architecture, Security) to ensure code adheres to the architecture designs and security standards (i.e. vulnerabilities).
  6. Ensure code always meets the required engineering GSS standards.
  7. Support the GSS Engineering Lead driving the strategic direction of the Software Engineering department.
  8. Support and mentor Data Engineering colleagues.

What you’ll need

Required:

  1. Experience designing and building high throughput, scalable, resilient and secure data pipelines.
  2. Experience with the following AWS technologies: Glue jobs, Athena, S3, Step functions, Lambda, RDS (Aurora Postgres), DMS, Redshift, QuickSight, Kinesis Firehose.
  3. Expert knowledge of SQL.
  4. Hands-on experience with Kafka.
  5. Hands-on experience with Terraform.
  6. Hands-on experience of Python with a Data Analytics programming paradigm.
  7. Experience building CI/CD pipelines.
  8. Exceptional troubleshooting and debugging skills.

Good to have:

  1. Experience with design and implementation of integration solutions for event/data streaming.
  2. Experience working with Apache Superset.
  3. Start-up experience.
  4. Exposure to Payments domain – ideally sanctions screening.
