Brief intro to the role:
TransferRoom is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Data Engineer to lead the development of our DataOps and data engineering strategy. Your contributions will have a direct impact on the success of our product.
What you’ll be doing:
- Design, implement and lead our DataOps strategy
- Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines and architectures to support data integration and processing
- Implement, optimise and manage ETL processes
- Expert in T-SQL, performance tuning and query optimisation
- Expertise in Azure ecosystem, tools and ETL architecture
- Familiarity with data governance, particularly GDPR compliance
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, suitable for working with a small, agile team
- Technical curiosity and innovation- make recommendations to the wider business as to how to keep up to date with the best data solutions, tools and practices.

Required skills and experience:
- Minimum 4 years experience in data engineering
- Expert in T-SQL, DataOps, SQL performance tuning and query optimisation
- Good working knowledge of Azure, tooling, python and git
- Proficiency in Python
- Expert in ETL process and tooling
- Deep understanding of Data Architecture
- Fluency in English

- Experience in working with Azure DevOps, Azure Pipelines and Prefect.io
