We are seeking a skilled Data Analyst to join our growing 177-person company (120 in the UK, 50 in the US) to drive data-driven decision-making through comprehensive analysis of our internal company operations and performance. This is a pivotal role for someone who is passionate about data analysis and wants a crash course on making an impact on business performance.

This hire will own data analytics across the business. You will partner with every department to unlock key data insights through stable data pipelines, beautiful dashboards, and promoting data fluency across all of your interactions. This hire will be a fundamental part of our data team, spanning across many responsibilities and partnering with other new data hires (see also: Data Scientist and Data Engineer) to create a highly scalable, future-forward data strategy.

Key Responsibilities

Data Analysis & Reporting

  • Analyse core company data across departments
  • Design and build interactive dashboards using BI tools for key business metrics including, but not limited to, company growth metrics, product usage, and operational efficiency
  • Develop self-service analytic capabilities for department managers based on data needs and priorities
  • Conduct ad-hoc analysis to support strategic business decisions
  • Create executive-level reporting for board meetings and investor updates
  • Ensure data accuracy and consistency across all reporting platforms
  • Be part of building and deciding our BI and data technology stack

Data Management & Infrastructure

  • Perform data transformation and manipulation tasks to prepare datasets for analysis, including cleaning, aggregating, and structuring data to meet business requirements
  • Partner with Data Engineering to implement data governance practices, ensuring robust pipelines and data quality
  • Keep impeccable and useful documentation of all data sources, definitions, and methodologies
Required Qualifications

Technical Skills

  • Bachelor\'s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, or related field
  • Demonstrable experience in data analysis, business intelligence, or a related role
  • Proficiency in SQL and querying from a variety of data sources (databases, data warehouses, SaaS reporting applications)
  • Experience with BI tools (ThoughtSpot, Tableau, Power BI, Looker, or similar)
  • Strong Excel skills, including pivot tables, advanced formulas, and data modelling
  • Understanding of statistical concepts and data visualisation principles
  • Proficient in Python for data analysis, manipulation, and automation, with experience using libraries such as pandas, NumPy
  • Hands-on experience working with Snowflake or other cloud-based data warehouse platforms (e.g. Databricks) including writing and optimising complex SQL queries for large-scale datasets

Business Acumen

  • Ability to learn core business metrics across departments and ability to fluidly translate the requirements into business insights with the support of the leadership team
  • Experience working with company operational and/or financial data
  • Knowledge of data governance and compliance requirements

Soft Skills

  • Excellent communication skills with ability to present complex data insights to non-technical stakeholders
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking abilities
  • Detail-oriented with high accuracy standards
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
  • Collaborative approach to working with cross-functional teams
  • Comfortable with and excited about building out new processes from the ground up

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in companies of similar size (100-200 employees) and/or being one of the first BI/Data employees
  • Certifications in relevant BI tools or data analysis platforms
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)

Reporting Structure

This role reports to the Chief of Staff and will work closely with department heads across the organisation as well as other Data personnel.
