We’re looking for a Senior Data Analyst who is deeply proficient in SQL, highly analytical, and passionate about transforming raw data into actionable insights. This remote, 9 month Fixed Term Contract role sits within UW’s Business Intelligence function. You’ll play a critical role in helping the business make data-informed decisions by analysing complex datasets, surfacing meaningful patterns, and building scalable data products.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and perform advanced SQL work on raw data and build scalable datasets (ideally in BigQuery).
  • Develop dashboards and reports using Looker Studio (or similar BI tools like Tableau, Power BI) to enable self-service data analysis and track KPIs.
  • Apply knowledge of relational and dimensional data modelling concepts to design robust data structures.
  • Work with data modelling tools such as Dataform (or dbt).
  • Collaborate with operational delivery teams to understand business goals, shape data requirements, and deliver insights with real-world impact.
  • Assist the BI Manager in overseeing quality control processes.
  • Lead complex projects and represent the BI function in cross-team settings.
  • Drive data culture by shaping team processes and improving tooling.
  • Identify trends, patterns, and anomalies, translating them into actionable insights for stakeholders.
  • Partner with stakeholders to define metrics and ensure consistent reporting across teams.
  • Support, mentor and coach more junior analysts.
Qualifications
  • Advanced SQL skills with hands-on experience working with raw data and building scalable datasets (ideally in BigQuery).
  • Expertise with Looker Studio (or similar BI tools like Tableau, Power BI).
  • Demonstrable knowledge of relational and dimensional data modelling concepts.
  • Experience with data modelling tools such as Dataform (or dbt).
  • Experience coaching or mentoring junior team members.
  • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to break down complex problems and draw clear conclusions from data.
  • Familiar with BI methodologies and best practice principles.
