SC Cleared Data Architect/DBA - Azure, SQL, Cloud

Location - 3 days a week based in London/rest remote working
Upto 9 months

Candidates must have current, active SC security clearance (used in last 12 months)

£550 - £650 per day (Inside IR35)

Our leading government client is looking for an SC Cleared Azure Data Architect/DBA and Microsoft Azure expert with financial services experience, to support in the definition and implementation of its data strategy.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background of delivering excellent data solutions (including data process redesign) and a thorough understanding, and experience of using, Microsoft cloud-based data management tools.

The successful candidate must be able to present examples of successful data architecture and design solutions, that have been implemented successfully at previous assignments, preferably in the financial services sector.

The role will involve:

Establishing the Data Architect role and implementing the supporting governance and controls required to adhere to industry best practice in the management of its data assets
Provide technical support across all SQL Database environments
Provide operational support for DB issues initiated from Incidents or Changes
Work on projects and provide effective support to project teams to ensure the smooth transition of new databases and initiatives into the Production environmentExperience and Knowledge:

Extensive and recent practical experience of designing and implementing data architectural models and the design of a data model and data dictionary
Experience in the use of cloud-based (in particular Microsoft) data management tools and services
Exceptional skills and experience assessing and implementing data process improvements, and writing clear and concise business & technical requirements
Application of process automation where beneficial, assessing and presenting benefits, costs, and risks etc.
Ability to contribute to internal process to support the design of Power BI reports / dashboards and the underlying semantic model, working with stakeholders to understand requirements and present data in a way that provides meaningful insights
Strong expertise in data modelling techniques
Familiarity with data warehousing concepts and tools
Knowledge of master data management (MDM)
Ability to design and optimize T-SQL queries for high-performance data retrieval / manipulation
Understanding of Azure SQL Database and Azure SQL Managed Instance
Knowledge of Azure Data Factory (ADF) for ETL processes
Experience with Azure Data Lake and Azure Synapse Analytics
Microsoft SQL Server 2018
Microsoft SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS)
Microsoft SQL Server Profiler
SQL Server T-SQL Programming
SQL Server Schema modelling
Data Modelling design and documentation tools (e.g. Erwin)
Cloud based data design/migration technologies (e.g. Azure)
Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer Associate or Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert
