Overview:


We are looking for an experienced and motivated Satellite Engineer to join a leading team in the UK space sector. As a Satellite Engineer, you will be responsible for the design, development, testing, and integration of satellite systems, contributing to innovative projects in telecommunications, Earth observation, and more. You will work with cutting-edge technologies and play a crucial role in delivering high-performance satellite solutions for both commercial and defence applications.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Design, develop, and integrate satellite systems and subsystems, including payloads, propulsion systems, and power systems.
  • Perform detailed system analysis, simulations, and design optimisation to meet mission requirements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration and performance of satellite components.
  • Work on the verification and validation of satellite designs through testing and system-level integration.
  • Utilise satellite design and simulation tools, including STK, MATLAB, and other industry-standard software.
  • Ensure all designs comply with industry standards and regulations, including space-related standards and security protocols.
  • Support satellite mission planning, including trajectory analysis and operational procedures.
  • Contribute to documentation of designs, test results, and technical reports for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Assist in troubleshooting and resolving issues that arise during the testing, integration, and operational phases of satellite projects.


Required Skills & Qualifications:


  • Degree in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in satellite systems engineering, including satellite design, testing, and integration.
  • Proficiency in satellite design tools such as STK, MATLAB, and other simulation software.
  • Strong knowledge of satellite subsystems, including payload, power, propulsion, and communications systems.
  • Experience with systems integration, verification, and validation for space applications.
  • Familiarity with space mission planning and orbital mechanics.
  • Understanding of industry standards and regulatory requirements for space systems.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.


Desirable Skills:


  • Higher qualifications (e.g., Master's degree) in aerospace, space systems, or telecommunications engineering.
  • Experience working with satellite operators or space agencies.
  • Knowledge of satellite communication systems and ground control stations.
  • Experience with satellite testing and qualification processes.
  • Familiarity with satellite manufacturing processes and assembly techniques.
  • Active UK security clearance or eligibility to obtain one.
