That’s what makes us Roche.This role is based in the Real-World & Clinical Data Strategy (RWCDS) team which drives data excellence and analytics to power enhanced decision-making and evidence-generation within Roche Product Development. We develop and implement data strategies that unlock the value of clinical, operational, and real-world data to accelerate evidence generation, decision-making, and innovation across PD and beyond. By embedding FAIR principles, advancing data governance, and enabling data productization, RWCDS ensures that data is not only findable and usable, but also a driver of scientific rigor, regulatory readiness, and AI-powered transformation. Through deep partnerships with internal functions and external collaborators, we shape a future-ready data ecosystem that supports personalized healthcare and efficient drug development.The Opportunity:The RWD Scientist plays a key role in generating insights from real-world data to inform clinical development, regulatory strategy, and healthcare decision-making. You will design and execute observational studies, contribute to data strategy, and collaborate across teams within Development and the broader Pharma organization. Your work enables evidence generation across therapeutic areas and supports the responsible and impactful use of real-world data at scale. You support use of RWD by designing studies to address clinical, operational, regulatory, or payer questions You work within established guidelines and data science processes to contribute to data cleaning, descriptive analytics, and exploratory evidence generation You assist in identifying relevant real-world data sources and performing feasibility assessments under guidance from senior data scientists You apply expertise in observational study methodology to appropriately interpret results of studies* You build expertise in novel data types, statistical methods, and analytical methodology, which may include advanced analytics, special trial designs and types, and data handling methods* You support knowledge sharing and continuous improvement in RWD methodology and delivery* You continuously look for opportunities to broaden knowledge, capabilities and skill setWho you are:* You hold a Master’s or PhD in Epidemiology, Biostatistics, Health Economics, or a related field* You have experience working with healthcare or real-world data in applied research settings; or an advanced degree with equivalent work experience.* You have experience using statistical software (e.g., R, SAS, Python) for data analysis* You have the capacity for independent thinking and ability to make decisions based upon sound principles* You exhibit Excellent strategic agility including problem-solving and critical thinking skills, and agility that extends beyond technical domain* You demonstrate respect for cultural differences when interacting with colleagues in the global workplace* You possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, specifically in the areas of presentation and writing, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts in clear languagePreferred:* Experience working in agile project teams or regulated environments* Exposure to pharmacoepidemiology or HEORLocation* This position is based in Welwyn* Relocation Assistance is not available#PDDUK# Who we areA healthier future drives us to innovate.
