Job Description
We currently have an exciting and unique opportunity to join a successful and growing team within Legal and General Investment Management (LGIM). The role is part of an enterprise quant development team, tasked to modernise and turbo charge the engineering that takes place within the Investments function that drives innovation and new product development. The developer will be a member of the team guiding and leading the pythonpetency within LGIM
The increased popularity in Python, creating technical solutions and automating financial processes and data flows has be essential to teams across the business. This multi-faceted role will involve building financial products, advising teams on technical decisions across the business, and being a front runner in investigating and learning the new technologies available
What you'll be doing:
Working with front office to build, develop and enhance models and processes. This involves understanding the end-to-end processes, implementing the financial concepts, advising on the technical build, and working with a team to develop the overall solution Supporting relevant Investments teams in their use of Python, advising on potential solutions, and acting as a consultant on suggested improvements and enhancements Sharing knowledge and helping to train others on the best practises in Python. This is in order to encourage the use of Python to help automate processes and reduce risk throughout LGIM Implementing end-to-end, integration and unit testing in Python, and encourage the best practises Python throughout LGIM Supporting users on our Domino DataLabs platform, answering queries and investigating any issues Working with the rest of the Investment Engineering team to build and add to our internal library LGIM PyKit. LGIM PyKit is aprehensive library of reusableponents for building LGIM specific solutions,plementing opensource libraries Through engagement with business and technology stakeholders, identifying solutions for improving existing tools and processes, be this in terms of calculation efficiency, use of new libraries/techniques, general code quality, improved testing, etc Spotting opportunities to help/advise others on technical/technological issues, being approachable and flexible, maintaining and improving our relationships with other teams in Investments
Qualifications
Who we're looking for: To hit the ground running in this role you'll demonstrate strong Quantitative analysis and financial engineering knowledge as well as strong Python development experience ideally from an Investment Management background You'll have a strong analytical mindset, attention to detail, and problem-solving ability SQL and VBA experience, preferred Version control and testing knowledge, essential Demonstrate previous experience with Agile delivery Excellentmunication skills, in particular explaining technical details to non-technical stakeholders Passionate about continuous development and learning Experience working with front-end languages ( JavaScript, React, HTML, CSS) - desirable Experience working with big data and/or data lakes - desirable Whatever your role, we reward performance and behaviour with a package that looks after all the things that are important to you.
