The Company

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a leading and rapidly growing brand within the ambient sector. The company is focused on developing innovative and impactful product offerings for both retail and foodservice customers, with a particular emphasis on private label products.

Due to their continued growth, they are now seeking a tenacious Product Development Manager to lead the development and launch of exciting new products.

Please note that this role will involve regular travel in the UK and Europe.

The Role

As the Product Development Manager, you will be responsible for leading the creation and launch of innovative products across retail and foodservice sectors. You will work closely with internal teams, including marketing, commercial, and NPD, to create new products that meet evolving customer needs and market trends.

You will conduct market and competitor analysis to identify gaps and opportunities, using insights from both the ambient market and consumer preferences to develop new product concepts. This will involve collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop products that meet customer requirements, quality standards, and cost targets. You will also manage the entire product development lifecycle, ensuring that new products are successfully launched on time and meet market demands.

A key part of the role will involve engaging with customers directly, gaining insights to ensure that products are tailored to meet specific customer needs and ahead of the competition.

The Person

You will be an NPD Manager or a Senior NPD Technologist looking for a step up. Ideally, you will have a background in both retail and foodservice markets, with a strong understanding of current trends and product innovations.

A degree in Food Science, Product Development, or a related field is required, and you should have a deep understanding of product formulation, food safety standards, and production processes. Experience in managing multiple projects from concept to launch, along with strong communication, analytical, and leadership skills, will be key to your success in this role.

You should be a creative and strategic thinker with the ability to develop products that meet both customer and consumer needs. A collaborative approach is essential as you will work across various departments and with external partners. Fluency in French would be an advantage, as the role will involve travel to production sites in both the UK and France.

If you are a results-driven and innovative product developer, then this could be the perfect opportunity for you. Apply now or call us on 0345 2600 737/ 07700 137 110 for a confidential chat.

Neurodiversity in Machine Learning Careers: Turning Different Thinking into a Superpower

Machine learning is about more than just models & metrics. It’s about spotting patterns others miss, asking better questions, challenging assumptions & building systems that work reliably in the real world. That makes it a natural home for many neurodivergent people. If you live with ADHD, autism or dyslexia, you may have been told your brain is “too distracted”, “too literal” or “too disorganised” for a technical career. In reality, many of the traits that can make school or traditional offices hard are exactly the traits that make for excellent ML engineers, applied scientists & MLOps specialists. This guide is written for neurodivergent ML job seekers in the UK. We’ll explore: What neurodiversity means in a machine learning context How ADHD, autism & dyslexia strengths map to ML roles Practical workplace adjustments you can ask for under UK law How to talk about neurodivergence in applications & interviews By the end, you’ll have a clearer sense of where you might thrive in ML – & how to turn “different thinking” into a genuine career advantage.

As we move into 2026, the machine learning jobs market in the UK is going through another big shift. Foundation models and generative AI are everywhere, companies are under pressure to show real ROI from AI, and cloud costs are being scrutinised like never before. Some organisations are slowing hiring or merging teams. Others are doubling down on machine learning, MLOps and AI platform engineering to stay competitive. The end result? Fewer fluffy “AI” roles, more focused machine learning roles with clear ownership and expectations. Whether you are a machine learning job seeker planning your next move, or a recruiter trying to build ML teams, understanding the key machine learning hiring trends for 2026 will help you stay ahead.
