Job Overview:

Are you looking for an exciting and ambitious role, with the possibility to work on the cutting edge of mobile GPU technology? Maybe looking to use your technical and leadership skills to help drive your career?

In 2006 Arm acquired Falanx, a small Norwegian start-up developing Graphics Processing Units based in Trondheim. Today we are around 750 engineers spread across multiple sites worldwide.

The team develops Mali, the world’s #1 shipping Graphics Processor! The Arm Mali series of multimedia processors offers graphics solutions to drive the ultimate visual experience across a wide range of devices, scaling from entry-level mass market smartphones through to visually stunning, high-performance smartphones, Android OS-based tablets and SmartTVs. It has applications in mobile, machine learning, Internet of Things, automotive, security, and embedded devices.

We have a strong track record of building up expertise in people, so this is an excellent opportunity for learning new things in a friendly and collaborative environment! Join a multinational, multifaceted and highly motivated hardware development group with great work ethics where you will enjoy the support of your colleagues while being challenged by exciting technical problems. If you like producing high-quality, high-performance hardware and solving sophisticated technical problems, then we would love to hear from you. By joining Arm, your ideas will make a difference and you will have the opportunity to lead, challenge the norm and ultimately change the world of media processing.

Responsibilities:

We are searching for an experienced hardware cybersecurity architect to join the GPU Hardware Team and help us develop secure GPUs powering the devices of tomorrow.

In this role, you will be responsible for architecting HW security for the Mali and Immortalis GPUs. You will guide and technically lead other engineers as they develop parts of the GPU that affects security.

Improve the security of our GPUs through investigating architecture or microarchitecture changes. Lead the implementation of such changes.

Carry out security reviews of the GPU hardware taking relevant system aspects into account such as firmware and software. Identify potential vulnerabilities and suggest ways to reduce the risk of these.

Guide, teach and mentor colleagues to understand how to reduce the likelihood of vulnerabilities, potential side channels and attack surfaces.

Required Skills and Experience:

Owned and carried out either design or verification of complex digital hardware units from specification to design sign-off.

Good understanding of embedded systems with software, firmware and hardware components. Experience in identifying and resolving security vulnerabilities in such systems.

Ability to work with a high level of independence and schedule own work and tasks. Communicate effectively in spoken and written English.

“Nice To Have” Skills and Experience:

Experience with HW Cybersecurity requirements, threat modelling, security mechanisms and incident management.

Experience with system development adhering to ISO/SAE 21434 Cybersecurity Standard for Road Vehicles.

Familiar with functional safety aspects of design and verification, including knowledge of ISO 26262.

Experience with high level programming in languages such as C/C++.

Leadership experience

Experience in presenting and explaining to colleagues as well as at international conferences.

In Return:

Working on interesting new projects is exciting, but we also know how important it is to receive support. We make sure you have regular time with your line manager who can offer ongoing support, feedback, and development opportunities. You will also be given flexibility and freedom in how you decide to complete your projects/tasks.
