As a Principal AI Engineer, you will be at the forefront of developing and implementing cutting-edge AI models and workflows that drive business value for our clients. In this hands-on role, you will work closely with Data Engineers and Full Stack developers to build innovative AI systems, leveraging your expertise in multi-agent generative AI frameworks, machine learning, AIOps, and architecture to deliver scalable and reliable solutions.

Job Description

What you’ll do:

1. Lead AI engineering strategy to build AI-powered solutions that integrate massive datasets from multiple sources.
2. Design and implement robust multi-agent workflows and long-running workflows, ensuring efficiency and reliability through effective tracing, alerting, flow optimization, and scalability strategies.
3. Evaluate and implement cutting-edge AI models, including tuning large language models (LLMs) and building systems of LLM-powered agents.
4. Develop secure and scalable interfaces and APIs, ensuring robust design, build, and deployment processes that are both scalable and secure.
5. Create deployable AI solutions using CI/CD and AIOps best practices, with a strong focus on security and scalability.
6. Monitor app and workflow performance to troubleshoot issues and optimize performance metrics including client satisfaction, cost, and latency.
7. Communicate designs, results, models, and insights to stakeholders, clients, and non-technical audiences.

What you’ll bring:

1. Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative or technical field such as Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, Econometrics, or Engineering.
2. 8+ years of professional experience deploying production AI solutions that created insights from data at a large scale.
3. 4+ years of leading large, impactful AI engineering projects.
4. Deep understanding and ability to communicate AI methods, their strengths, and their limitations.
5. In-depth understanding of security principles and practices in AI, including data governance and privacy.
6. Curiosity, clarifying questions, a passion for learning new things, and perseverance in the face of uncertainty.
7. Strong business acumen to relate the needs of the customer to the AI engineering solutions we can build with our products.

Key technical proficiencies:

1. Designing and implementing end-to-end AI assistant systems, including retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), multi-agent architectures, text-to-SQL, tracing, alerting, and long-running workflows.
2. Proven record of designing and writing scalable production software in a modern language, Python experience preferred.
3. Expertise in AIOps principles, model registries, feature stores, retraining strategies, and experiment tracking.
4. Proficiency in developing CI/CD pipelines for AI model deployment into a cloud-based environment, with an emphasis on security and scalability.
5. Following API best practices to design, build, secure, and deploy services.

Preferred skills and experiences:

1. Ph.D. in a quantitative or technical field such as Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, Econometrics, or Engineering.
2. Familiarity with financial markets and fixed-income securities.
3. Broad experience with natural language techniques including TFIDF, LSTMs, embeddings, attention, transformers, and LLMs.
4. Fluency in data modeling and big data analysis using tools like Spark or Hadoop.
5. Experience with panel, behavioral, consumer, or demographic data at scale.
6. Proven ability to effectively communicate complex technical details and concepts to external technical partners and clients.
