We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Principal Control Systems Engineer to join our dynamic team at Druck Limited in Groby, Leicestershire. As a Principal Control Systems Engineer, you will play a key role in designing, developing, and optimizing control systems for our diverse range of products.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. System Design and Development:Lead the design and development of advanced control systems for our precision instrumentation products, ensuring compliance with industry standards and customer requirements.
  2. Technical Leadership:Provide technical guidance and leadership to a multidisciplinary engineering team, fostering innovation and continuous improvement in control system design.
  3. Collaboration:Work closely with cross-functional teams, including hardware and software engineers, to integrate control systems seamlessly into overall product designs.
  4. Testing and Validation:Develop and implement rigorous testing procedures to validate the performance and reliability of control systems, ensuring adherence to quality standards.
  5. Documentation:Create comprehensive technical documentation, including system specifications, design documents, and test procedures.
  6. Continuous Learning:Stay abreast of the latest advancements in control systems engineering and contribute to the company's knowledge base through research and development initiatives.

To be successful in this role you will:

  1. Expert in Control law development (LQR, MPC, PID, Adaptive Methods, etc)
  2. Dynamic System Modelling and Systems Identification
  3. Excellent Matlab/Simulink skills
  4. Embedded control law development experience
  5. Experienced in commissioning automatic control systems
  6. Proven self-learner of new concepts
  7. Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems Engineering, or a related field.
  8. Proven experience in designing and implementing control systems for precision instrumentation or similar products.
  9. Proficiency in relevant software tools and programming languages (e.g., MATLAB, Simulink, C/C++).
  10. Strong leadership and communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams.
  11. Experience with industry standards and regulations related to control systems in aerospace and manufacturing is highly desirable.
  12. Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to addressing engineering challenges.
