Pricing Specialist – Health Insurance

Salary: up to £75,000

The UK private health insurance market has never been more exciting or full of opportunity. This newly created challenging and dynamic role invites the right candidate to join a high-performing Pricing team, working in an ambitious and growing business.

The role supports the street/market pricing of Aviva’s Small Group health insurance products across the direct and intermediated channels. Aviva Health has an ambitious growth target over the next three years, and the Small Group market segment is expected to be a key contributor to this. This role will have direct influence on business performance, exposure to senior management and opportunities to collaborate across business areas.

A bit about the role

The role would be perfectly suited to a highly numerate and naturally curious individual; someone looking to advance their career building on experience in a commercial environment, as well as supporting a program of transformation towards data science pricing techniques. The role will involve a mixture of home-based and office-based work, as is the current working pattern of the existing team.

Skills & experience we’re looking for:

Highly numerate, with a minimum 2:1 undergraduate degree in a STEM subject

Excellent analytical skills, with an ability to interpret data and develop solutions to complex problems; experience in at least one programming language e.g. SQL, Python, R

An understanding of insurance pricing and distribution, adept at balancing trading and profitability outcomes; familiarity with the private health insurance market

Strong communication and presentation skills, including the ability to explain technical analysis to non-technical audiences

Courage and conviction to challenge existing practices and champion change
