Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Performance Data Analyst to join our Performance & Attribution team within the Global Technology and Data Group in London or Charlotte. This role plays a key part in supporting the delivery of accurate and timely performance and attribution reporting across Barings’ global investment platform, covering both public and private markets.

As a Performance Data Analyst, you will be responsible for the production, validation, and oversight of performance data and reports. You will collaborate closely with internal stakeholders across investment, operations, and technology teams, as well as with external vendors, to ensure the integrity and consistency of performance outputs. You will also contribute to ongoing initiatives aimed at enhancing our performance measurement capabilities and supporting strategic business goals.

Primary Responsibilities

Ensure accurate production of all regular and ad-hoc performance analysis, attribution and ex-post risk data for both internal and external recipients. Perform or oversee quality control checks on output produced by other analysts. Liaise with Barings front office departments to ascertain ongoing requirements and work with the team to implement these goals. Ensure that ad-hoc tasks and queries are acknowledged in a timely and professional manner, and that regular updates are provided as necessary. Assist other global team members as necessary and where reasonable to meet requirements and deliverables. Maintain a working relationship with our key data vendors and ensure that the upkeep of service quality and process improvement are priority agendas. Seek efficiency gains in our operational processes and work with technology support teams to drive automation and scalable workflows. Assist with required initiatives such as project management, documentation, audit requests, system testing and internal trainings when required. Maintain documentation and contribute to knowledge sharing within the team. Act as an ambassador for the team.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, or a related field preferred. Progress toward or completion of CIPM, CFA, or similar professional qualification is advantageous. Demonstrate a solid understanding of performance and attribution methodologies across all asset classes, i.e. Brinson attribution, Fixed Income attribution and multi-asset attribution. Knowledge of performance platforms such as Aladdin, Factset, Statpro, Bloomberg, Morningstar. Proficiency in Excel; experience with SQL, or other data tools is a plus. Proven ability to work both independently and in a team environment across a global platform. Proven analytical and critical thinking skills with the ability to gather, analyze, organize and report information, results and recommendations. Ability to establish and maintain relationships at all levels in the organization. Ability to manage several projects in different stages of completion concurrently. Ability to rapidly learn the Barings infrastructure and proprietary tools. Detailed reporting and presentation requirements a must.
