The Scope

FSC Asia Pacific is seeking aMarket Development Manager for FSC Thailand. The chosen candidate will officially represent FSC Thailand for internal meetings and external engagements and will be based in Bangkok. Responsibilities include initiating and leading market engagement projects and activities in collaboration with stakeholders and team members in Thailand, the Asia Pacific region, and internationally. The selected candidate will work closely with and report to the Regional Director of FSC Asia Pacific.

Main Roles & Responsibilities

Market Development:

  • Plan market development strategy for FSC in Thailand 
  • Understand, analyze, and identify opportunities to grow FSC in relevant value chains. 
  • Identify relevant opportunities for topics and events to promote FSC presence within the country. 
  • Lead market development for FSC in Thailand in collaboration with the APAC regional team. 
  • Organize and implement activities and events, including budget planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation for adaptive management. 
  • Promote the FSC certification programs to stakeholders in Thailand.

 
Stakeholder engagement:

  • Offer crucial assistance and valuable guidance to stakeholders, specifically FSC certificate holders and FSC Promotional License Holders.
  • Take charge of organizing and promoting workshops, seminars, and events in collaboration with engaged stakeholders and partners.
  • Coordinate and actively engage with stakeholders involved in FSC international membership' activities.

 
Marketing and communications:

  • Handle inquiries related to FSC certification and Trademark services.
  • Identify essential needs and seize opportunities for multi-communications campaigns, while actively monitoring local news and media coverage related to FSC. 
  • Coordinate content to be available in the local language for interested stakeholders, among other responsibilities.
  • Develop and take charge of the FSC stakeholder database in Thailand.

Your profile

Education and Training

  • University degree in marketing, forest economics, communications, or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 5 years of working experience relevant to the role and responsibilities of the position.

 
Working Experience, Style and Skills: 

  • Good level of knowledge and understanding of the forest product value chain.
  • Ability to work independently with a positive attitude. 
  • Professional experience in the following areas is an advantage: forestry, sustainability supply chain, market development, forest business, commodity and trading, project management, communication, stakeholder engagement.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills in adaptive management and planning.
  • Familiar with FSC programs, certification systems, and standards. 
  • Proficient in using standard productivity software and applications, including MS Office suite.
  • Knowledge of big data analysis and AI tools for marketing is a plus.
  • Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment. 

 
Language & Communication Skills: 

  • Fluency in English and Thai (spoken and written). 
  • Effectively communicating with stakeholders, including the media, is a considerable advantage).

The Fine Print

  • Location: Bangkok Thailand 
  • Working Hours: Full time - 40 hours per week.
  • Duration of Engagement: 2 year contract. 
  • Starting Date: As soon as possible.
  • Travel: Occasional domestic travel is required, as well international travel.
