Machine Learning Engineer (Reinforcement Learning)

About the job
We are a VC-backed startup focused on behavioural AI, currently in stealth mode. We are building for retail with a focus on reinforcement learning, generative AI and recommendation systems. We are looking for a Machine Learning Engineer with recent experience in deep reinforcement learning to work with our team of industry-leading domain experts and engineers.

Areas of focus:

  1. Develop and implement:Design and implement scalable machine learning and deep learning algorithms, with a focus on reinforcement learning.
  2. Solution development:Translate latest machine learning advances into impactful solutions and products, from MVPs to fully deployed systems.
  3. Performance optimisation:Optimise machine learning models for performance in modern environments (e.g., distributed clusters, GPUs).

Requirements:

  1. Education:Ph.D. in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Reinforcement Learning, or a closely related field.
  2. Experience:2-5 years of professional experience in a relevant role.
  3. Machine learning expertise:Strong foundation in machine learning and deep learning algorithms (e.g., neural networks, supervised/unsupervised learning).
  4. Reinforcement learning:Strong understanding of reinforcement learning concepts and algorithms. Have implemented within a commercial context.
  5. Programming proficiency:Excellent Python programming skills with experience in developing and debugging production-level code. Experience with C/C++ is a significant plus.
  6. Deep learning frameworks:Expertise with autograd libraries such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, Keras, and/or JAX.
