Machine Learning Engineer – Harrods

We are currently looking for a Machine Learning Engineer to join our in‑house Data Science team here at Harrods. You will be responsible for bridging the gap between data scientists and IT professionals to ensure the smooth deployment, integration, and scalability of machine learning models and systems.


About the Role

In this role you will be involved in managing the machine learning infrastructure, optimizing model performance, and ensuring the reliability and efficiency of machine learning operations. You will collaborate with data scientists to support implementation of machine learning models in a production environment.



  • Design, build, and maintain scalable machine learning infrastructure, including data pipelines, model training and evaluation systems, and deployment frameworks.
  • Develop and implement monitoring and alerting systems to ensure the health and performance of machine learning models and systems.
  • Optimize and fine‑tune machine learning models for improved accuracy, scalability, and efficiency.
  • Automate and streamline machine learning operations processes, including model deployment, testing, and versioning.

About You

You will have an understanding of machine learning concepts and techniques with either a PhD and industry experience or a considerable amount of industry experience. We are looking for someone with solid understanding of software engineering principles with familiarity of cloud platforms (such as AWS, Azure or Google Cloud) and a familiarity with DevOps principles and tools, CI/CD pipelines and version control systems.



  • Proficiency in programming in Python
  • Previous experience with Spark
  • Strong problem‑solving skills
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex issues
