Lead Front End Engineer / Developer (TypeScript React Data) Cambridge / WFH to £100k

Are you a Front End technologist with a strong knowledge of best practice combined with leadership skills?

You could be progressing your career in a senior, hands-on role working on real-world problems within a highly successful and scaling SaaS tech company, the core product is an AI and Machine Learning platform that is used within the automotive sector for a range of purposes e.g. engine calibration.

As a Lead Front End Engineer you'll collaborate closely with UX Designers, Product Managers and Backend Software Engineers to architect, design and develop highly scalable and performant web applications that feature sophisticated Data Visualisations. You will also provide hands-on technical leadership to a small team of mid-senior Front End Engineers, including coaching and mentoring, upskilling and 1-2-1s., ensuring consistent high quality with standards upheld.

There are a number of technical challenges as the company scales and excellent career progression as you help to grow the team around you.

Location / WFH:

You can work from most of the time, joining the team in Cambridge once a week. The office is close to the station and has an onsite gym with 24 hour access.

About you:

  • You have strong technical / team leadership skills, happy to mentor, coach and upskill other in the team whilst providing hands-on technical leadership
  • You have strong Vanilla JavaScript development experience combined with TypeScript and React skills (there is a tech test involved in the interview process)
  • You have experience with UI data visualisation and relevant tools (e.g. Chart.js, D3.js)
  • You have experience of working on enterprise scale web applications of scale
  • You have full software development lifecycle experience, including a strong appreciation of testing
  • You have strong technical project management experience with a focus on delivery
  • You have a good knowledge of software engineering best practices and Computer Science fundamentals such as OOP, Data Structures, Design Patterns
  • You're collaborative with great communication skills and Agile team experience
  • You're keen to work in a start-up / scale-up environment
  • You're degree educated in Computer Science or similar technical discipline
