As our Lead Data Engineer, you will be seen as the technical manager of an established expert team of Data Engineers. Youll lead the team of 5 and be responsible for the implementation of data solutions and products within our Azure environments and technology stack. There is plenty of scope to build here, as you optimise the data architecture, ensure data integrity and availability, and collaborate with stakeholders and partners to meet our business objectives. All while working agile with our Data Solutions Architect, Technical BA, Scrum Master and Analytics team. The data strategy is a crucial part to Sagas DNA. Work closely with our scrum master and product owners to ensure optimal work breakdown and allocation. Lead SME Provide expert support on our technology to delivery solutions. Leading the team in the best adoption of Azure components, Snowflake, Talend and BI tools. Working with our partners and suppliers to ensure an efficient and cost-effective model. Data Architecture and Models Maintain and scale our data architecture strategy alongside the Data Solutions Architect. Collaborate with teams to design and maintain effective data models to support analytics and reporting requirements. ELT Processes Oversee the development and optimisation of the ELT processes for efficient data movement, ensuring data pipelines are reliable, scalable, and performant. Working across a landscape of structured and unstructured data. Quality Assurance Enforce data quality standards for accuracy and completeness of data. Collaboration with Stakeholders Working closely with business stakeholders and technical colleagues to understand data requirements and deliver solutions aligned with our strategy and objectives. Communicating effectively with both technical and non-technical counterparts. Security and Compliance Enforce data security and compliance measures in accordance with all relevant policies and regulations. Working close alongside Data Governance to implement best practices and policies. Performance Optimisation Identify and address performance bottlenecks in data processing. The Ideal Candidate We already have an established team of Data Engineers. We need a new lead who would complete this great team. You will have already been a line manager and be comfortable with working closely with key stakeholders in house or client facing. You will also need to demonstrate the following essential skills; Cloud Technology Experience, Programming and Coding Languages Mainly those used in the wrangling and transformation of data such as SQL, Phyton, R, etc. ELT Experience Extensive experience working on large and complex projects designing and developing ELT process, DataLakes and Data Warehouses. Agile Working Experience in delivering results in an Agile way of working. Communication Working with technical and non-technical counterparts, facilitating effective collaboration and resolution. Problem Solving Analyse complex data challenges, identify solutions and implement effective strategies. Project Management Ability to manage and deliver data engineering projects on time, to high standards. Continuous Learning and Improvement Commitment to looking at market and technology trends to stay connected with advancements in the field. Leadership Experience Success in leading and managing a team of technical colleagues. Desirable skills; Experience working with our technology stack; Snowflake, Talend and Azure Services.
